The accommodation is laid out in reverse with a double bedroom and ensuite, a twin bedroom and family bathroom on the ground floor and a spacious open plan living area on the first floor. French doors in the lounge open on to a Juliet balcony from where there are views across the fields to the coast and on a clear day across to Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland.
The barn has been sympathetically converted to a luxury standards with plenty of insulation, full gas central heating and double glazing. Furnished throughout with modern furnishings it has a light and airy feel while retaining some of its original features and character.
The barn is set within the gardens of Church House Farm where you will find a private seating area with a picnic bench for use by guests. In the farmyard there is also a traditional well where water was once drawn for the farm. The owners have a 1 and half acre field, were you will find neighbour's sheep. Leave ReviewLovely quite accommodation
By Sal on 10-Oct-2025Lovely clean barn cottage, really quite little village. Comfortably, decorated beautifully, good wifi. Nice garden. Good walks nearby. Solway coast is stunning, great for flat walking and the lakes are by for more strenuous walks. Perfect!! 😍
Absolutely fabulous
By Matthew Middleton on 28-Sep-2024We stayed here over the weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. The owners have spent a lot of time and money to produce this stunning place to stay. No stone has been left unturned and everything in this property is the best of the best. The location is also very nice and is both scenic and near the coast, which is ideal. We will definitely be returning here again at some point as it’s the nicest place we have ever stayed and the owners are lovely. I couldn’t fault anything in anyway and would highly recommend.
Location Superb
By Neville on 03-May-2025The location is superb, with great access to the local areas. There is a local pub that is just over 5 mins walk away, that has good beers and serves excellent food. The layout of the barn is very good, with the sleeping rooms downstairs, and lounge/dining/kitchen upstairs, which work very well. The accommodation is very quiet and relaxing……. There is plenty of walking to do directly from the barn location if you want some good exercise. The owners are great friendly hosts.

The barn is lovely and comfortable and has everything thing you need with great views! The host are very friendly and helpful if you need anything. There is a lovely walk around the village that has a pub and children''s play park and you are so close to many attractions whatever you are looking for, city, coast and countryside! A great place all round, thank you church house barn.
Beautifully quaint barn conversion with a modern twist in a lovely little village
By Darren Foster on 02-Apr-2024Beautifully quaint barn conversion with a modern twist in a lovely little village, and only a stones throw away from grade 1 listed church steeped in history. Great hosts who provide everything you could possibly need in an extremely clean property. Unfortunately I was on bussiness and didn''t have time to explore the local and surrounding areas but i would highly recommend this place if you''re looking for a couple or few nights away exploring cumbria
