Description

Stone Croft Lodge is a genuine Scandinavian lodge situated with the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Beauty within North Yorkshire. This lodge was built by Danish craftsmen and must not be confused with the wooden-clad static caravan type lodges which can be found!
We are located on one of Nidderdale's hillsides with views across the valley. This lodge is placed within the grounds of our old farmhouse and within our semi ancient woodland which is also there for you to enjoy, Further up the hillside you will find Brimham Rocks - An outstanding set of rock formations run by the National Trust.

Stone Croft Lodge is designed for 2 people in 1 double bedroom and is all on one level with wheelchair access. The modern well equipped kitchen-dining room has a fridge/freezer, electric oven/hob and microwave and joins onto the lounge area with a large, comfortable sofa, smart TV, Blu ray and Bluetooth audio player. This sofa is actually a high quality sofa bed and can be easily and quickly converted to sleep up to 2 more people if needed - but please be aware that the use of this as a sofa bed will obviously impact your available space!
Outside the lodge and through the patio doors there is a decked area looking down into a woodland and into our small croft area.

The lodge has its own parking, free WIFI and is Visit England assessed with a 4 star rating award and we have EV charging facilities onsite (payable extra)
Our changeover days are Mondays and Fridays, with 3, 4 and 7 day breaks + longer stays available. Bookings can be made directly with us using our secure online booking and payment portal on our website. BACs transfers also accepted

Yes Comments about this property Stone Croft, Lovely cabin in woodland, as described in booking info, everything you need in the kitchen is there for you. EV charging available and excellent. Plenty of parking space. Only thing to be aware of is the small step down into the bathroom and the very small step over bar where the sections of the building are joined….absolutely no problem once seen. Balcony is a lovely sun trap for breakfast and early evening. Tips for other travellers Pateley Bridge has everything……10 minute drive …….Two excellent butchers, one specializes in pasties and pies the other in home produced quick cook dinners. Also good bakery but get there early as closes at about 2.00. Do not forget the old sweet shop, a must for old and young.

Yes Comments about this property Very well located lodges as we stayed at Fern and Stone Croft as a family of 7 adults and 1 child. We explored the local area and facilities were excellent with clear instructions to work what is required. Communication with Anthony is very good and would recommend. Only point to raise was 9.30 check out which is early we felt 10am would be better. Tips for other travellers Visited G&T ice cream parlour and also Thorp Perrow Arbitoreum which were great. The crown Inn in pateley bridge was also great the food and service was excellent on the Sunday menu.

Traveller from Belper, GB Date of stay 13 Sep 2024 Location Cleanliness Facilities Service / Staff 4 - Good 4 - Good 2 - Below Average 1 - Poor Would you recommend this property to other travellers? Yes Comments about this property Picked for the location, which was lovely. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and watching the birds and butterflies. You could have supplied some soap for hand washing/bathing.I didn't expect to arrive 'after4' and have then to go out to shop for some. Also some milk would have been nice. The touches that many places give to welcome their guests were sadly missing. 1 for staff as we met no one all week. Tips for other travellers Lots of wonderful moorland above Pateley Bridge. Gorgeous scenery everywhere. Owner Response We are pleased you enjoyed the location and wildlife, of which there are plenty. Regarding your review, please remember that this is self-catering accommodation, and it is not possible to supply everything that every individual guest would want. We do ensure that standard kitchen related consumables such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea and sugar along with shortbread biscuits from a local award-winning artisan bakery are present and individually packaged soap is left in the bathroom. If we missed putting any of these out for you, I apoligise, but not sure if this happenned. We used to supply a bottle of green top milk, but more often than not, it would still be in the fridge, unopened, at the end of a stay and usually needed to be binned due to the 'use by' dates. This was very wasteful and demonstrated that most guests arrive with exactly what they want anyway. In reference to the arrive ‘after 4’ comment – this is in line with all self-catering accommodation – we need the time to clean, inspect and prepare between guests and factor in extra time in case something unexpected crops up. We were particularly disappointed to receive the low score you gave us for service/staff as our welcome leaflet clearly explains that while we do not routinely go knocking on doors anymore (as in recent years, most people don’t seem to appreciate the intrusion and we want to respect your privacy), we are only in the next door farmhouse or at worst, a phone call away should there be an issue. If you had made us aware that you wanted to see us we would have been there for you.

Ripon Otley Harrogate Pateley bridge Ripley Further a field Ribblehead viaduct White scar caves It’s worth considering having a National trust card/membership. Fountain abbey was £19 each. If you are a young at heart person (60+) You can get senior membership I can’t remember if it was £58? a year. (A + of being 60+) Worth checking out.
