Yes Comments about this property We had a wonderful stay at Fern Crag with our family and 5 dogs. The lodge is very well equipped and clean with stunning views. The forest walks were beautiful and we enjoyed watching some of the local wildlife around the lodge. Tips for other travellers Pateley bridge is a lovely village. Special mention must go to Cocoa Joes who make the best hot chocolate and to the lovely bookshop Paper People Books and Games.

Yes Comments about this property Very well located lodges as we stayed at Fern and Stone Croft as a family of 7 adults and 1 child. We explored the local area and facilities were excellent with clear instructions to work what is required. Communication with Anthony is very good and would recommend. Only point to raise was 9.30 check out which is early we felt 10am would be better. Tips for other travellers Visited G&T ice cream parlour and also Thorp Perrow Arbitoreum which were great. The crown Inn in pateley bridge was also great the food and service was excellent on the Sunday menu.

Yes Comments about this property We spent a week in Fern Crag lodge and found it to be very comfortable and well equipped. It is set in some beautiful woodland and very peaceful. Tips for other travellers It is ideally situated for trips to nearby places such as Harrogate, Knaresborough and Grassington, to name a few! Also nearby are Brimham Rocks and Fountains Abbey both worth a visit.

No Comments about this property The lodge is beautifully located, but it's in need of a major refresh. It's tired. In en suite room, curtain draped over rail, trim at floor level hanging off, plug in sink leaks, taps ancient. Bedrooms v small. If I owned this property I'd convert it to 2 larger bedrooms with bigger beds. Kitchen very well equipped, best fridge/freezer I've come across in any lodge. Disappointed at lack of BBQ. Sofa in lounge uncomfortable due to depth. Tips for other travellers Fountains abbey, Aysgarth Falls, Brimham Rocks all well worth visiting. Owner Response Thank you for your review and I am sorry that the lodge did not meet your expectations, despite me supplying you with additional information about it prior to your booking. I cannot find the 'trim hanging off' which you mention – I can only presume that you refer to a bit of the floor edging seal which follows the contours of the grout. I will see if I can improve on this. The lodge you stayed in is designed for families of up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms and contrary to what you suggest, these rooms are not 'v small' as can be seen on the photos on our website. These are average sized bedrooms, and most holidaymakers prefer a larger living area rather than larger bedrooms. We make provision for disposable BBQs next to the pizza oven and this was also explained to you prior to your arrival and the pizza oven can do almost everything a BBQ can do anyway. I was disappointed to hear your thoughts on the 1-month-old sofas which you found too deep. These are standard sized sofas, and when we tested them, we thought they were extremely comfortable, especially as they are traditionally sprung rather than just foam inserts in the cushions. I am however pleased that the kitchen and fridge freezer exceeded your expectations.

Yes Comments about this property Everything great, but would have loved some books/games etc. Owner was polite and practical but could not honestly describe him as friendly - this would make the property from good to excellent in our opinion. Tips for other travellers Brimham Rocks was great. We also enjoyed Hackfall Woods and river. Owner Response Thank you for taking the time to review us. I can only apologise if you felt I was being unfriendly when I popped round to supply you with with wood for the pizza stove. I got the impression that I was intruding, so I deliberately didn't stop to have a chat etc. I am sorry if I misread this.
