Kildare
By Jon Pickett on 30-Apr-2025Kildare, a 17th-century workhouse located in the lovely village of Niton, was the perfect base for our family holiday. Having grown up on the Island, it was a real joy to return and stay somewhere that made the most of the area's natural beauty, especially with coastal walks and the sea a short walk from the doorstep. The house itself is a wonderful blend of old and new. It has a well-equipped kitchen, a cute garden, and a large dining room that worked perfectly for our group. Michael, the host, was fantastic, friendly, helpful, and informative. He took the time to explain how to manage the hot water for a larger group and gave great local tips. We enjoyed both beach outings and time with family, and the house was ideal for both relaxing and entertaining. The local shop was conveniently close, though do note that parking isn't available at the property. That said, we usually found free roadside parking nearby without too much trouble. I'd happily recommend Kildare to anyone looking for a comfortable and characterful family stay on the Isle of Wight.
