La Buissonnière is situated deep in the beautiful Normandy countryside, but within easy distance of beaches, towns and child activities.
Our gite:
Sleeps up to 4 in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom.
Is all on the GROUND FLOOR - perfect for children, or guests with limited mobility
Has an *Arrive any day of the week* policy. If the dates are free your are welcome to book. We are open all year round.
Has a spacious lounge with widescreen tv and offers FreeSat and free wi-fi
Includes in the rental price bedding, towels and electricity *(however, we are sorry but due to insurance restrictions we do not permit the charging of any form of electric transport)*
Has sheep in the paddock, free ranging chickens, a friendly cat, and cows in the fields from May to November. **BECAUSE OF OUR LIVESTOCK WE CANNOT ACCEPT PETS**
Is approx 90 mins from most ferry ports and 4 hours from the channel tunnel.
Is 5 mins (3km) from our nearest villages with boulangeries, boucheries, bars, restaurants and small supermarkets
Is 15 mins from the nearest town of Mortain, and 20 mins from Domfront and St. Hilaire du Harcouet
Has a private garden with garden furniture, sunloungers and barbecue
Has ample free parking and can provide covered storage for touring motorcyclists

KITCHEN AND DINING
The well equipped open plan kitchen/diner provides a dining table which comfortably seats four. There is a full sized gas cooker and oven which is perfect if cooking is your thing on holiday, and there is also a fridge with a small ice box, automatic washing machine, microwave, electric kettle, filter coffee machine and a toaster. Crockery, glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils are all stored in white contemporary kitchen cupboards and drawers. Tea-towels are provided.
LIVING ROOMS
The bright blue front door of La Buissonnière opens on to the large tiled floor of a light,airy and homely beamed lounge and adjoining open plan kitchen/diner. The very comfortable 3 seater sofa and 2 armchairs have plenty of cushions, and the accompanying side tables, 48 inch widescreen television complete with Freesat all help to achieve that holiday chill-out feeling. The feature fireplace with electric heating makes a cosy focal point to the room, and lighting can be either bright from the central lighting or subdued from various lamps placed around the lounge. There is a selection of books available for your use and free wi-fi is available.
BEDROOMS
Our comfortable double room looks out on to the gite's private sun-decked rear garden which is bounded by the sheep paddock, and the twin bedroom is situated to the front of the property looking out to two old bay trees in the large walled lawn. Both rooms have clothes hanging facilities, drawer storage, bedside tables, towel rails and thermostatically controlled electric radiators, and all bed linen and extra fleece blankets are provided.
SHOWER ROOM
The fully tiled WC and shower room contains a corner opening shower cubicle with a step up to the shower enclosure. The washbasin has a large mirror with mirror lighting and a shaver point, and a storage cabinet beneath the basin. A heated towel rail keeps the shower room cosily warm if needed.
GARDEN AND OUTSIDE SPACE
There is a small private garden to the rear of the property for your sole use. The raised sundeck area is complete with 4 sun-loungers, a large wooden table with parasol, 4 chairs and a barbecue for al fresco eating, and the small rear lawn can provide a little more shade if preferred. To the front of the property there is a large lawn where children can play and a variety of outdoor games including boules, football, badminton, cricket, swing-ball and frisbee are all provided. We would also be delighted to introduce you to our sheep in the nearby paddocks, our chickens, and our cat.
GUEST SUITABILITY
Our gite has no stairs and is all on the ground floor. There is 1 step into the property and in the shower room there is a step up to the shower enclosure. The spacious lounge, kitchen and diner are open plan. The property may suit those with limited mobility but unfortunately is not suitable for wheelchairs. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your needs and ascertain whether the property would be suitable for your stay.
GENERAL INFORMATION
"Any day changeover day": We have no fixed changeover day as we feel a midweek changeover can offer our guests cheaper travel options. If your required dates are available on our calendar, you are welcome to book our gite. We just ask that on the day of departure you vacate the property by 10am at the latest, and for new arrivals check in is from 4pm onwards.
La Buissonnière is within easy distance of many not-to-be-missed attractions, including:
Mont St. Michel and the stunning beaches in the Baie du Mont St. Michel
The Normandy landing beaches, and the military cemeteries, museums and memorials of WW2
