We wanted a quiet place to relax and Les Glycines fulfilled all of our expectations! The gite has everything you need for a self catering holiday, and the heated pool was the icing on the cake for us - it was great to be able to swim rather than sit in a plunge pool. The grounds are huge, and we spent hours sitting watching the buzzards, and the deer that visit at dusk. We could even pick an apple from the orchard to have with our breakfast! Alan & Jan are perfect hosts, there if you need them but not intrusive. We will definitely return.
Great Gite Loved it cant wait to return.Loved everything about this place from the peaceful rural location with a lovely pool (heated) to not being far from a great supermarket which stocks everything you could need for your stay. Will definitely book to stay again.
We had an amazing week in les glycines. It really is a beautiful spot. The house on arrival was spotless and very well equipped.Jan and Alan are extremely welcoming and make you feel at home straight away. The garden and land around the house is well looked after and breath taking ,with an abundance of wildlife to see.The pool was a good size and lovely and warm. The house is perfectly situated to explore the many towns and villages close by.We have already booked for next year ,Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to all .
House is well equipped, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Not sure why a previous review criticised the lack of heating as there are heaters in every room. Pool lovely and warm, covered outdoor dining area and extensive terrace overlooking the pool. Whole place very private, set in beautiful relaxing grounds. Hosts really helpful, but not intrusive. Good place to relax and take it easy, but also good base to explore cycle ways and many interesting places to visit. Couldn't wish for more.
I agree with all the above reviews. It was absolutely lovely, but because the weather was not as warm as we had hoped it would be, bearing in mind it's Normandy, not the South of France, the lounge was a bit chilly as not warmed during the day. However, the log fire helped a lot in the evenings, but there is no central heating so could possibly be an issue in colder months. But it was very clean, tidy, spacious, and very peaceful, and in a lovely area. The pool was great, and everything was good quality. Jan and Alan were very kind and helpful, and even provided charcoal and lighters for the BBQ. The local roads are fairly quiet, and often straight for some distance, VERY unlike the UK. I can thoroughly recommend!!!!! We would happily return, and recommend that you try it, as it as good as it looks.
We stayed here for a week at the end of May and the whole experience was amazing. The hosts were first class and welcomed us on our arrival. The accommodation is outstanding and very clean and tidy. The swimming pool was heated to a very lovely temperature that made getting in very easy. The grounds are peaceful and quiet and just what was needed for a relaxing getaway.
