Description

THE SPACE

Entering through the quaint entrance area you are greeted by a spacious and comfortable lounge. A log burner takes centre stage surrounded by comfy sofas and a love chair. This tranquil space is perfect for gathering after a busy day exploring the hidden gem of North Yorkshire or gathered around the roaring fire playing a family board game!
Leading from the lounge is a well-stocked kitchen with everything required to rustle up a hearty supper or Yorkshire breakfast! Here you will find a dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, range cooker and a Nespresso coffee machine, perfect for that all important morning coffee!
Moorside Cottage has a separate dining room with beautiful views across the village main street and seating for six guests, allowing everyone to gather and chat the night away! There is also a useful utility room housing the washing machine and separate tumble dryer. In addition, you will find a downstairs wash room with bath over shower, wc and basin.
On the first floor you are greeted by three spacious and beautifully presented bedrooms. Two king size bedrooms can be found at the front of the cottage with lovely views across the village and beyond. Both beds are adorned with crisp white bedding and super comfy duvets and pillows – perfect for a restful night’s sleep.
The third bedroom has views across the pretty garden with a single bed and additional z style bed for the 6th guest if required. A luxury family bathroom is also located on the first floor with large walk-in shower, wc and basin.
To the rear of the property is a stunning cottage garden with well stocked flower beds and mature shrubs – offering seclusion and privacy. An outside dining table sits perfectly on the stone patio ideal for alfresco dining or an evening glass of fizz! There is also additional relaxed seating should you wish to shelter from the sun or relax with your favourite novel!

A useful lockable store is also available for guests use, allowing the option to bring your bicycles to explore the hidden gems of North Yorkshire on two wheels. E bike charging facilities are also available.

Step inside this picturesque stone cottage and you won’t want to leave. With its calm and restful colour palette, cosy log burner and pretty cottage garden it ticks all the boxes for a true escape to the country.
Sleeping up to 6 guests across three bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, a relaxing lounge and separate dining room and kitchen, there is plenty of space for all. The pretty cottage garden is a real suntrap with a table and chairs for al fresco dining, along with more relaxed garden seating - the perfect spot for enjoying a sundowner as you take in the delights of this lovely private garden.

Location: THE LOCAL AREA

Positioned in the centre of this beautiful North Yorkshire Village, Moorside Cottage is close to Heart’s Coffee Shop which serves excellent coffee, delicious food and delicious freshly baked bread! The village also provides a well-stocked shop and Post Office, a two-minute walk from the property. The White Horse public house is just a few doors away and has a reputation for excellent food and a warm Yorkshire welcome. You will also find many renowned local pubs and restaurants within a short drive from the cottage some of which are Michelin Star!

Ampleforth Abbey has been home to a Community of Benedictine monks since 1802. The Abbey church is open to visitors who might like to simply look around. Explore the beautiful lakes, trails and woodlands or join a behind the scenes tour of the Abbey’s orchards and Cider Mill to see how Ampleforth Abbeys’ famous cider and cider brandy is made. Ampleforth Abbey is within walking distance from the cottage, allowing you to take in the breath-taking valley views!

Visitors can take advantage of the sports centre facilities at Ampleforth College and within a 5-mile radius there is fishing, pony trekking, golf, cycle hire and the newly opened cycle trails from Sutton Bank National Parks Centre.

Just a few miles away discover the pretty market town of Helmsley, the only market town in the North York Moors National Park, where you will discover pubs, restaurants a small department store and a range of interesting independent delis and shops. Well worth a visit whatever time of year!

Close at hand are Rievaulx Abbey and Byland Abbey and the National Trust properties of Nunnington Hall and Rievaulx Terrace and Temples.

Lying just 20 miles north of the City of York, you are also perfectly placed to head into the city to experience the culture of the Minster, galleries and the ancient City Walls. Or if your passion is food, you will find many excellent independent bars and restaurants to discover! York is a city brimming with history and culture. Take a walk along the castle walls and head to York Minster for some truly jaw dropping architecture, followed by a wander around the historical cobbled streets and many independent shops and boutiques.

Castle Howard, Scampston Walled Garden are also well worth a visit whilst exploring the many hidden gems of North Yorkshire.

Further afield you will discover Whitby on the East Coast, Goathland and Pickering in the North York Moors National Park. Masham, Ripon and Harrogate are to the west heading towards the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
