Set all on one level, the living space is well laid out with separate but linked areas for cooking, dining, relaxing and sleeping. At its heart is a beautiful wood burner to keep you warm on chilly evenings, a comfy sofa snuggling and sumptuous furnishings throughout all add to the luxurious feel the cottage ensues from the minute you step inside.
The kitchen area is spacious and well laid out, perfect for chatting over morning coffee while you plan the days adventures or for catching up over pre dinner drinks. There is a cooker, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and everything you need for cooking up a tasty supper or hearty breakfast.
The sleeping area homes a double bed with its sumptuous duvets and pillow, ensuring a good night’s sleep for all. The bathroom is the only separate space, with a bath and shower over, wc and basin.
To the side of the property is a lovely little patio area with garden furniture giving you a great place to sit back and relax whilst enjoying a well-deserved glass of fizz!
The Byre has plenty of character and has been lovingly decorated and furnished with exposed beams throughout, giving you that lovely country home feeling.
This is a perfect base from which to enjoy the quaint market town of Helmsley, being just minutes from renowned restaurants, superb delicatessens and quality shops. In this idyllic location, amongst rolling countryside on the edge of Ryedale, Helmsley has an art centre with live-event and film programmes, five acres of walled gardens set beside the backdrop of the castle ruins, and Duncombe Park, a country estate and home to the International Centre of Birds of Prey.
The area is popular for walking, touring and country pursuits.


Nestled in the heart of the beautiful market town of Helmsley, The Byre has been lovingly converted from the existing cow shed, into a stunning, beautiful escape just for two.
With a keen eye for interiors and attention detail the barn offers a large open plan kitchen, living and sleeping area, with the bonus of a log burner to keep you toasty and warm on colder winter days. Outside there is a private seating area with table and chairs and off-street parking for one car.
Dogs are also welcome to join you.

The Norman Helmsley Castle dates back over 900 years. It has evolved over the centuries from a mighty mediaeval fortress to a luxurious Tudor mansion, a Civil War stronghold and a romantic Victorian ruin. The castle is open to visitors all year round, under the care of English Heritage.
Helmsley has everything you’d expect in a quintessentially English market town; a vibrant market square, independent specialist shops, unique places to eat and drink and an imposing castle. It also has a walled garden, a bird of prey centre, a microbrewery, an open-air swimming pool, a luxury spa, a nature reserve, galleries and an arts centre.
From Helmsley, you can explore both The Howardian Hills and the neighbouring North York Moors National Park, stretching across the Whitby and the coast.
