It’s so relaxing here in Beadnell, it’s hard to know how to tell you! I’m sure you can see that Captain Jack’s is just fabulous, either as your own escape or for your family, but let me tell you what can be found nearby.
You really can walk to the beach, passing the newly refurbished village shop on the way, with its brand new café.
Just around the corner from Captain Jack’s is The Courtyard, perhaps for the perfect breakfast. Just further on is The Craster Arms, opposite The Salt Water Café, and if you fancy fine dining, Beadnell Towers is just there too! You might leave quite full!
At the other end of Beadnell is The Landing Café, and this is just next to the harbour beach where it’s all action for swimmers, wind surfers, divers in the bay, and lots of sandcastles!
If you feel like leaving Beadnell for a while, Seahouses is just to the north, but a bit further north takes you to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. And yet to the south there is Dunstanburgh Castle. If you look for Howick Sands on some kind of magic map you can park there and do the beautiful coastal walk past The Bathing House, and then on to Craster and Dunstanburgh – I challenge you! And the little bay at Howick is great for a swim.
Not much further are the beautiful Alnwick Gardens, and beyond, well, the whole of Northumberland. It’s really something, and we would love to welcome you!

The best plac we have stayed in
By Karen on 13-Oct-2025We had a wonderful week’s stay. It’s clean, bright and airy. The best place we have stayed in and we didn’t want to leave. It felt like home. Everything was provided that we could possibly need. The welcome pack with crumpets, jam, eggs, butter, milk, sparkling wine was perfect. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was luxurious. Best shower ever! Location is great for beadnell itself with a pub and cafes within a 3 minute walk. Seahouses and Bamburgh close by and easy drives to many wonderful beaches and towns. The host Sarah was friendly and gave great advice re eateries etc. Would stay here again 100%

Excellent on Every Level

This host goes beyond what you would expect - attention to detail that will never appear on a description of the venue but things that are so important to a self catering stay: Fresh not fake flowers A beautiful welcome gift An air fryer! Sachets of condiments, tea and sugar, and coffee pods to go with the provided coffee machine. Lots of loo roll, not just the usual one or two rolls and bring your own. Lots of plus sockets - no scrabbling to share for phone charging. A nightlight up and downstairs - and the downstairs one doubles as a torch. A first aid kit...I could go on a lot further. We only found two negatives - the car park space is tight for a larger car, and there is no shaver socket in the bathroom, so if you're forgotten your charger (as we did), you need to put up with a flat toothbrush and going to buy a throw away razer. Apart from that, brilliant little place and booked again for next year.
