The picturesque and relatively compact medieval town of Cahors is just 20 minutes away, offering large supermarkets, shops, restaurants, and all the amenities expected of the administrative centre of the Lot department. Cahors is internationally known for its Malbec wine, its lively cultural scene, and its annual Blues and Jazz Festival. The town is also home to the iconic Pont Valentré, built in 1308 and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
For everyday essentials, there are also closer shopping options in Prayssac (15 minutes away) and Catus (10 minutes away), both offering supermarkets, bakeries, cafés, and local shops. The area is also well known for its excellent local markets, with a variety of traditional markets taking place in nearby towns on different days of the week, making it easy to explore regional produce, local cheeses, wines, and crafts throughout your stay.
This part of France enjoys one of the lowest population densities in Europe, with no heavy industry. As a result, the environment is exceptionally clean and unspoilt, with virtually no light pollution, making night skies and star-gazing truly spectacular.
The Lot region is renowned for its outdoor activities and natural beauty. The nearby rivers are ideal for canoeing and kayaking, while countless walking and hiking trails wind through limestone plateaux, forests, and valleys. Karting and tree climbing are available in the area to entertain the whole family. Highlights include the spectacular Gouffre de Padirac, one of France’s most famous underground sites, as well as the stunning villages of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Rocamadour, dramatically perched on a cliff face and home to a renowned bird of prey and eagle sanctuary.
Food lovers will appreciate the region’s celebrated cuisine, featuring duck, truffles, wild mushrooms, and excellent local produce. In spring, the countryside comes alive with wildflower meadows and over 20 varieties of rare orchids, making the area especially appealing to nature lovers and photographers.

Magnificent stone property over 200 years old, fully restored, nestled in a peaceful hamlet in the Lot. The house comfortably accommodates 8 adults in 4 bedrooms and up to 6 children or teenagers in the dormitory, arranged over three floors.
On the ground floor, there are two spacious double bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom and large beds suitable for couples.
The first floor features a further double bedroom with its own bathroom, as well as a large open-plan living space comprising a lounge, dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen, including a Lacanche range and high-quality appliances (KitchenAid, pizza oven, ice machine, etc.).
On the second floor, you’ll find a dormitory sleeping six children/teenagers, another double bedroom, and an additional bathroom.
The property is ideal for a relaxing holiday focused on peace, nature, and comfort. Set within a 3,000 m² private landscaped garden, it offers several areas to unwind. A private 10 × 5 m swimming pool, surrounded by sun loungers, parasols, and mature trees, is perfect for sunny days.
Additional facilities are available for both adults and children, including a trampoline, barbecue, and table tennis table and a fire-pit as well as an outdoor sofa area to enjoy alfresco dining or aperitif and outdoor dining facilities.

Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport – approx. 2 hours

Arrival
