Oker farmhouse offers the following home comforts:

Bedrooms/Bathrooms
5 individually styled double bedrooms can be made as a twin or double beds. Two of the bedrooms have luxury en suites, and there is a further beautiful family bathroom. All bathrooms are fitted with Hansgrohe Rainfall showers with separate hand held shower head, Villeroy & Boch vanity units and toilets as well as underfloor heating. The master bedroom can sleep up to 3 guests with the use of the pull out single sized trundle bed, great for a family with children. Bedrooms 4 also has an additional pull-out single-sized trundle bed, so there are plenty of options for flexible sleeping arrangements, and it's great for families with children. All bedrooms have fitted solid oak wardrobes with plenty of hanging space. Quality dressing gowns are provided for each guest during your stay.


Kitchen/Dinning
As you step through the front door, you're welcomed into the heart of this home: a generously spacious kitchen and dining area. It's exquisitely crafted with a bespoke, handmade kitchen by Mark Wilkinson, oak flooring throughout and a striking central island crafted from natural granite. Every detail has been carefully considered, offering a fully equipped space featuring an Aga complete with two cooking and two warming chambers, twin hot plates, and a warming plate. Complementing this is a Miele electric oven and microwave. The kitchen also houses a substantial Sub-Zero fridge freezer equipped with a water purifier and ice machine, alongside a dedicated Sub-Zero wine cooler, perfect for a variety of wines and champagnes. For coffee enthusiasts, a Nespresso machine with a milk frother, along with two cafetières, is thoughtfully provided to satisfy your coffee cravings.
You'll find an abundance of culinary tools—cutlery, crockery, utensils, and elegant crystal glassware—allowing you to indulge your passion for cooking. Adjacent to the kitchen, the spacious dining room awaits, furnished with a bespoke oak dining table comfortably seating ten. The large pantry provides lots of storage with shelving and drawers.

Ascend the steps from the kitchen to discover the snug, a cosy space filled with natural light and captivating views of the garden and countryside through expansive windows and patio doors. A beautiful natural stone fireplace, adorned with a log burner, stands as the focal point, providing warmth and charm during cooler months. Sink into plush seating, featuring a large corner sofa and additional leather chairs, while immersing yourself in entertainment offered by the 55 inch wall-mounted smart TV. As the patio doors open onto the rear patio, bask in the tranquility of warm, sunlit evenings. The snug boasts expansive high ceilings with traditional wooden beams, encompassing the original charm of the farmhouse.

Games Room
The games lounge, right beside the kitchen diner, is perfect for guests of all ages. Inside, you'll discover the luxurious Olhausen Waterfall pool table, accompanied by cosy seating and a 55-inch flat-screen TV, offering modern comfort and fun for everyone!

Outside Space
The outside space at Oker Farm is spectacular! Choose from the comfy, rattan 12 seater dining table with BBQ to the front of the property, or choose to spend time inside the summer house featuring a table football and stylish Four Seasons furniture. To the back of the property enjoy relaxing on the comfortable Dedon sun loungers. If you are in the mood for a lovely walk with spectacular views, venture through the farms fields to the top of the hill and visit the famous Oker Tree! The tree is also known as Will Shores Tree and has its very own poem written by William Wordsworth and an interesting tale of its own! For anyone that is into in Geocaching you may find something of interest at the top of the hill. Four legged friends will have the time of their lives running through the 40 acres of land at the farm. For any keen walkers, the Derwent Valley Heritage Way passes through the land at the property and you can follow the path all the way to Ladybower reservoir! The River Derwent can be seen from the farm and is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a picnic on a summers day.

There is ample parking for 10 plus cars.

Please note
A BBQ is available for use from 01st April through to 31st October, we do ask our guests to please supply your own charcoal and lighting equipment as this is not provided.

Guest access


Guests have access to the whole property and the land except for the out buildings, however if you would like to use one of the out buildings as storage for bikes etc we would be happy to secure them for you.

Oker is a small village, located just outside of Matlock. You can walk from the farm into the centre of Matlock in only 15-20 along the river Derwent (or only a 5 minute drive). In Matlock you will find a great array of independent shops and some well known larger shops. Matlock has a fantastic park in the town centre that offers a children's play area, boating lake and cafe. There is also the Arc Leisure Centre between Darley Dale and Matlock, where you can swim or try a fitness class. Sainsbury’s is conveniently located close to the property, less than a 5 minute drive away. The farm is within walking distance to local pubs along the gated road to Darley bridge at the front of the property.

Other things to note


Oker Farm sleeps 10 adults with additional space for 2 more using the trundle beds; if your group is more than 10, please let us know at the time of booking so we can discuss bed requirements with you before your arrival.

Oker Farm is a perfect property for families and mixed groups who are looking for a relaxing stay in the Peak District with plenty of choice of country pursuits but are not looking for a party venue. We will consider bookings for Hen/Stag parties, please contact to discuss.

Please note that we are dog friendly at this property however, dogs must be kept under control at all times and never be left unattended. For your information, a maximum of 2 dogs are allowed on site if pre-arranged - they are welcome in all downstairs areas, but you will be expected to keep them out of the bedrooms and off the soft furnishings. We do charge £30 per dog for the duration of your stay.

For the comfort of all guests, outdoor shoes are not generally worn on the carpeted area of the house, so don’t forget your slippers!

Noise Policy - due to the quiet location, late-night noise must be confined to inside the building by 10 pm as neighbours are in close proximity. Please respect this.
No fireworks, drones or Chinese Lanterns; you are on the edge of a National Park with wildlife and livestock close by.

Wifi – we provide free wifi however, as the Peak District is in a beautiful rural location, sometimes there can be intermittent wifi signal that is beyond our control; we also hope you appreciate that we cannot guarantee wifi if there are technical issues out of our control.

Parking is available on site, and there is space for 10 plus cars.

Please inform us of your preferred bed arrangement in advance. While certain beds can be arranged as twins (as described in the listing), this is possible only if requested at least 7 days ahead. If no specific bedroom preferences are received, beds will automatically be prepared as doubles where suitable.

Regrettably, we're unable to accommodate late requests, especially during check-in. For bookings made within 7 days of arrival, all beds will default to doubles unless twin setup is requested at the time of booking.

Please note, cot bed linen is not provided, so kindly bring your own.
