Leave ReviewAnother luxurious, relaxing visit
By Sarah West on 13-Mar-2025We stayed in The Grange on this visit which is the flagship property at High Oaks as you enter the site. We were a group with 3 uni friends 20(ish) years later meeting up with our families; a mix of adults, pre teens, teens and two dogs too. Lots of space for everyone and such luxurious rooms, with elegant features all over especially the well lit, elegant en-suite in the master bedroom (although every bedroom is like a master bedroom!) We enjoyed walks to Thornton-le-Dale, a meal out in Pickering and a trip to Eden Camp as well. We saw a huge Hare as well as pheasant and rabbits. The sky was so amazing at night with lots of star & planet spotting. My pre-teen says he loved the games room, the beds were really comfy, having an en suite was a treat, the location's great for the walk to the nearby village and the dining table was good for beer pong (minus the beer!!) My teen says she was impressed with the cleanliness, natural beauty of the site with lots of walks nearby & things to do, making it a perfect getaway from real life problems (these are her words, honestly!) Don't hesitate to book, we love it which is why we've been back so many times and every visit has had something different to experience, and despite lots of looking, we can't find other properties with such high standards at a similar budget. We've been utterly spoilt by High Oaks!
A perfect family stay at High Oaks Grange
By Julie S on 17-Apr-2025The Grange has 6 bedrooms and accepts dogs so it was practically an ideal choice for my family of 8 adults, 3 young children and 1 old dog. However, The Grange exceeded our expectations. The quality of the furnishings and kitchen appliances was superb. There was plenty of space for us all to feel comfortable. The bedrooms were gorgeous, comfy beds, all with ensuite bathrooms. Everyone loved the games room, especially the retro games machine! We were blessed with great weather so were outdoors most of the time. The spa pool was particularly popular with the seating on the patio getting plenty of use. The lawned area was perfect for outdoor games and burning off energy. Some family walked to Thornton Le Dale along the footpath from High Oaks which was very pleasant. A friend visited one morning, walking along the public footpath from Pickering. We used Cedar Barns farm shop for supplies, breakfast and the play area too. The grounds at High Oaks are beautifully maintained. It felt as though we were the only ones there and it was very peaceful which is important to me. Perfect in every way.
Amazing destination beautiful accommodation and grounds
By Sharon S on 12-May-2025What an amazing place to stay we were a large family group staying in the grange and a few of the cottages. I have never before seen such attention to detail on soft furnishings and decor it was beautiful. The grounds were amazing and the large hot tub at the grange is like a small swimming pool. A few more pots for roasting etc would be helpful. Fabulous would highly reccomend.
Wow Wow Wow!
By Gaynor T on 28-May-2025The grange is absolutely gorgeous. This is the 2nd year we have visited and already booked for next year. Everything is in the house and the bedrooms are lovely. The swim hot tub is beautiful. I can't think of anything else as it is all there, myself and 11 other friends love this weekend.
The Hiltons
By Sarah Hilton on 07-Jul-2025We had a fantastic stay for my dad's 70th birthday we had some family in the grange and another group in the Dalby. The accommodations was superb, beds comfortable and plenty of towels and dressing gowns provided. There was essentials you would most likely need during your stay as in dish washer tablets, washing up liquid etc incase you forgot to pack and a nice welcome pack with snacks and coffee which was a nice gesture. We all had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend
A MUST stay!
By Emily S on 31-Jul-2025We've just returned from a fantastic stay at High Oaks Grange for a family gathering—and it ticked every box. The accommodation is beautiful, thoughtfully equipped, and still manages to feel warm and homely. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the generously sized gas BBQ was a big bonus. The spa pool was the ultimate luxury—especially in this country! The kids had a great time splashing around while staying warm. This is my third visit, each time with a different group, and it never fails to impress. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. If you’re staying here, make time for the walk into Thornton-le-Dale and a visit to the Cedar Barn farm shop—both are well worth it!
