Description
Living - You enter Pheasant Lodge via a covered porch in to a boot room with coat hooks and a seat to help take the weight off your feet after an active day. The living room, dining area and kitchen are perfectly sized and offer all the amenities you require for a short break or holiday in the lodge.
A comfortable corner sofa is the perfect position to enjoy the large TV, whilst underneath, the fire sets the tone for the perfect, cosy feel. The kitchen in our Woodland Lodges has all modern conveniences you may need including fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, wine cooler, dishwasher, oven and washer dryer. All kitchen utensils, crockery and glassware are provided. The family bathroom completes the downstairs with a large bath and overhead shower. Bed linen, towels, bathrobes and slippers are all provided.
Upstairs you will find a master bedroom with king-size bed and a second bedroom with twin single beds. Throughout High Oaks Grange you will find luxury Hypnos mattresses in every bedroom, the ultimate mattresses for rest and relaxation.
Entertainment - We have the whole family covered with our smart entertainment system in Pheasant Lodge. Throughout the lodge you can stay connected to our high speed WiFi, simply pop in the password and you can connect all your devices to share your holiday snaps with family and friends, watch a movie and plan your next day’s adventure.
Downstairs you will find a 40' LCD Smart TV with Google Chromecast, bringing thousands of movies, live sport* and catch up TV to your fingertips. In the Master bedroom there is a wall-mounted TV for those lazy mornings you can enjoy on holiday. Our amazing twin bedrooms are a kids (and grown ups) paradise, with each bed having its very own TV with a PS4** allowing multi player games to be played simultaneously.
Outside - Outside Pheasant Lodge there is a large decked area with outdoor seating. The BBQ is perfect for some al fresco dining as well as a covered hot tub to relax in whatever the weather. Parking is available for one car at each lodge with further parking available onsite. Each lodge also has a bike rack for added security.
Dogs - We know how much fun it is to bring your dog on holiday with you, however we also understand dogs are not everyone's cup of tea so we have both dog friendly and dog free lodges available. Pheasant Lodge is dog free.

By Claire on 29-Nov-2024This was our second visit to High Oaks Grange. We stayed in a Woodland Lodge this time after staying in a cottage the first time. The lodge was just as well equipped as the cottage. There was everything we needed in the kitchen, there were plenty of towels and a couple of robes to use when heading to the hot tub in the garden. Although all of the properties were occupied during the weekend we were there, they’re all spread out and it was still very quiet on site. The location is great with plenty of woodland/countryside around High Oaks Grange and we enjoyed a walk out for Sunday lunch as well as a trip in the car to the coast. The staff we met were lovely and really helpful. We’d still recommend and may even return!
Lovely, cosy and quiet stay
By Lauren S on 24-Apr-2025Just returned from our two night stay in one of the woodland lodges. We had such a lovely time! The location is fantastic as it’s nestled between Pickering village and the beautiful Thornton-le-Dale. Flamingo Land is only around a 15 minute drive also amongst lots of other attractions. The lodge itself is lovely and cosy with ample space! It was clean and we were pleasantly surprised with the hamper on arrival aswell as the amenities given - milk in the fridge, cleaning products, foil, cling film etc. Plenty of towels were given for the stay and we had another pleasant surprise with the robes and slippers that were given for the hot tub - which was perfect (clean and hot)! Our little ones loved the play park which is a great addition to the modern and clean site. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a great stay.
Relaxing Retreat
By Andrew G on 02-May-2025Our family of four stayed for three nights in one of the Woodland Lodges, which was perfect for a relaxing break. The lodge was spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable, with a great hot tub - a true home from home. The surroundings are ideal - quiet and well maintained grounds, a play park for kids and lots of space to walk a dog. High Oaks Grange is well located to explore North Yorkshire, with many places within 30 minutes travel.

We stayed in the Woodland Lodge again this time and with ample space, fully equipped kitchen lovely decking area and hot tub what more could you want. HO are dog friendly and we love the fact you have created a walk in the fields. The properties and the hot tubs are always very clean on arrival. The site is extremely well maintained and other than the fact we have to avert our dogs eyes when we see the squirrels and rabbits its lovely having nature so close and unbothered by you. No doubt you will see us again.
5* accommodation in an excellent location
By Nicky T on 28-Jul-2025This is our second visit to High Oakes Grange, the first was with a bigger group and this time we went as a family of 4 and stayed in a woodland lodge. I would highly recommend staying in any of the accommodation on offer, there are so many lovely touches within the accommodation itself which gives it a real luxury feel. And it so convenient in terms of location as there are so many things to do in the area. My children loved the place so much though that they wanted to be back early from days out to get back to the lodge and actually got upset when we left! We will be definitely booking to come again, thank you for such a fabulous start to the summer holidays

By Nicki on 16-Sep-2025The owners of this site have certainly got it right. The lodges are catered for everything you need. It’s spotless and the hot tub is an added bonus. My friends came from Sheffield and have stayed in many lodges elsewhere but their first reaction was the same as mine when I first stayed. We all Want to live there. Set in between woodlands and fields this tranquil setting allows you the peace to unwind and relax. The towns surrounding the site are certainly worth a visit and not too far away. I only live 25 minutes away and wouldn’t want to be anywhere else for my holiday. I have visited with my Labrador last year and will be back later this year, once with friends and again with family. I recommend this site to everyone I know. We all love visiting. Keep up the great work and see you again soon.
