Overview
Description
Oak Tree Cottage is nestled on the edge of the tranquil village of Pilley, near the coastal town of Lymington. With forest tracks on the doorstep, it is ideally situated for exploring the countryside of the New Forest National Park and villages along the South coast. The local ponies and donkeys are frequent visitors to our lane, as they roam freely in the immediate area. The cottage is tastefully furnished and well equipped, with ample parking; There is a large family kitchen diner, and sunny conservatory leading on to a large, completely private and sheltered rear garden. A table tennis table, garden furniture and a barbecue are provided for the summer months. We supply a travel cot, high chair, childrens' dinnerware and pre-school toys upon request. High-speed WIFI included. Children are very welcome, but sorry, we don't allow pets.We are a couple who love to travel, and we endeavour to give our guests an experience that we ourselves would expect from a holiday cottage. We provide the extra touches which help to make our guests really feel at home. We live a short distance from Oak Tree Cottage with our family of 3 boys, and we are countryside lovers. We're always happy to provide recommendations for activities/places to visit/restaurants and pubs in the local area. Please take a look at our website for more photographs and further information, or send us an enquiry.

Leave ReviewVery Comfortable and Extremely Well Equipped
By Nigel on 23-Jul-2025The Cottage is just great - very comfortable and extremely well equipped. Hard to fault, really. We stayed here as a base for a function we were attending nearby and the Cottage gave us everything we needed plus it is also well placed for exploring Lymington (a charming town) and the New Forest area. The amount of information provided by our hosts on nearby pubs and other attractions was extraordinary and exceptionally helpful - just a shame, from our point of view, that we didin't have time to try them all! Jenny was charming and extremely helpful. We didn't have any problems while we were there but I did have a couple of questions, to which Jenny responded very quickly. If you need somewhere to stay in this area, book the Cottage - you won't regret it!
Amazing Place
By Eleanor on 04-Jul-2025Amazing place literally on the edge of the forest/common, where horses and cattle roam around you. The cottage was beautiful with everything you needed and more, down to little things like foil and cling film to bigger things like a ready to use bbq with charcoal, lighters etc and fabulous fans in the bedrooms which were greatly appreciated when we stayed as it was a tad hot. Close to Beaulieu, Bucklers Hard and beaches both sandy and pebbly and approx 30 mins from Lymington for a mooch in shops and the harbour - cannot fault the cottage or Host at all.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in a beautiful location!
By Liam on 12-Jun-2023Oak Tree Cottage exceeded our expectations - it was immaculately clean, spacious and well located. Jenny & Ian are wonderful, responsive hosts. We would highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a break in the New Forest.
A Lovely Stay
By Sophie on 02-Feb-2025We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Jenny was helpful, communicative and flexible. The cottage itself was clean, comfy and cosy. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend. Thanks very much.
Amazing cottage, comfortable, clean, homely, well equipped, spacious, child friendly
By Jo Finch on 09-Dec-2024The cottage was spacious, well equipped, spotlessly clean, homely, comfortable and excellent value for money. The location is quiet but so much to see and do in the local area. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with all that a cook would need and the cottage is very child friendly (not that it needed to be) with toys, chair etc. There is a good sized garden and plenty of off street parking. The benefit of not stairs was fabulous for my older relatives, alongside an ensuite shower with a seat. Overall, very impressed indeed. Thanks Jenny and Ian for providing such a beautiful holiday home.
A peaceful retreat
By Pat, Devon on 16-Sep-2024Set at the end of a quiet village lane, Oak Tree Cottage and its sunny lawned garden is an ideal holiday home at the end of a day out. The owners have certainly gone the extra mile to thoughtfully and thoroughly equip it to ensure you don't have to take half your kitchen with you! The open heathland is a stroll down the road and lots of lovely places to visit are within easy reach. This delightful, traditional cottage provides the perfect peaceful getaway.
