Le Grand Camus features an exceptionally well equipped kitchen that includes a range cooker with 5 ring hob and double oven, the adjacent dining area has far reaching views of the grounds through french windows which open onto a terrace with hardwood ourdoor furniture, the open plan living area continues into a comfortable seating area with three sofas, TV receiving UK free-to-air channels, DVD player and woodburner.

There is also a bedroom on the ground floor, it is normally configured as a kingsize double, but the ziplock beds can be converted to 2 singles on request; there is a shower room just opposite, an ideal solution for any guests wishing to avoid stairs.

On the first floor which features exposed beams throughout, there are two spacious bedroom suites - one of which has ziplock beds that can be arranged either as 2 single beds or as a super-kingsize double bed according to guests reqirements, there is an ensuite shower room. Finally the superb, dual aspect master suite has a super-kingsize 4 poster bed and chandeliers, plus a bath as well as a separate shower cubicle in its' ensuite - a beautiful, romantic room that any couple will appreciate.

All three bedrooms have storage space, chairs, mirrors and bedside lamps. The shower cubicles are spacious, the sinks are inset in vanity units with mirrors and power points above, and a hair dryer is provided in each bathroom. Panel heaters keep the house comfortable out of summer months. British guests do not need to bring plug adaptors, a multi-point UK socket adaptor is supplied in each bedroom along with USB sockets.

Outside, beyond the terrace there is a big, private deck with barbecue and rattan outdoor dining furniture, alongside a lawned area which opens onto the extensive enclosed paddock / orchard shared with Le Petit Camus next door. Onsite parking for 2 cars is available to the side of Le Grand Camus and there is a cycle rack to the edge of the terrace.

The village Saint Gilles du Mene is 2km away, or the town of Plemet, with shops, supermarket, several restaurants and a park with a lake is 5 minutes drive. In the immediate area there are several other towns that have regular markets and a good selection of places to eat, as well as seasonal street festivals and brocante stalls.

There is an indoor swimming pool complex in Loudeac and a summer outdoor Lido in La Cheze. The nearby sports centre at La Prenessaye beside the River Lie has kayaks and cycles for hire whilst the riding stables in Loudeac Forest organises accompanied pony treks.

At just over an hours drive from St Malo ferry port and Rennes airport, Le Camus is an easy to reach holiday destination and a great touring base for this beautiful region where medieval market towns, castles, forests, lakes as well as stunning beaches, fashionable marinas and several golf courses provide attractions for many tastes.

Out of peak season Le Grand Camus can be rented by couples requiring use of just one bedroom suite at a discounted rate - please contact us to ask about this option.

Le Grand Camus - fabulous house and very well equipped

By Cynthia and John on 20-May-2023

the area is quiet but close enough for local amenities. Restful area with a huge garden (kids would love it) but within a hours drive to the coast. A must resturant is La Mullete at Montcontour.

What a fantastic spot

By Charlie Sharrod on 14-Jul-2022

One of our party had mobility issues and had an en suite Ground Floor where the others had a further 2 en suite rooms on the first floor The style and furnishings were so comfortable and so much more spacious than the pictures on the Web From the first contact with Penny through the whole booking process there was a professional and friendly welcoming approach and the whole thing went off smoothly Location was perfect , we visited Avranches and Bayeaux on the way down from Caen on our first day after an overnight ferry ,from then on we went out from Le Camus each day …up to the Coast at several places , visited local markets and the odd Chateau particularly Josselin and had several walks in the area The whole experience including relaxing in the garden with an odd glass or two was terrific and we all look forward to working out how we can arrange another visit Thank you all so much for your time efficiency and consideration in making it such a wonderful holiday. The weather… absolutely fabulous the whole time
