Your Private Sanctuary

Drive down the sloping driveway and park just outside the gate. Step into your enclosed sun trap courtyard where you’ll find:

• A gorgeous covered hot tub with lovely valley views and eco-friendly- no jets, just pure relaxation!

• A dining area and charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining

• A Philippe Starck Kartell Bubble sofa and chairs—perfect for lounging before a dip in the hot tub

Inside the Cottage

Enter through a porch/utility area, ideal for storing muddy boots after a coastal walk. You’ll also find a wine rack, butcher’s block, and coffee machine here.

The open-plan kitchen and sitting room has

• Slate flagstone flooring and a handmade solid wood kitchen

• A mini range cooker, retro-style fridge, full-size dishwasher and washing machine

• A wood-burning stove for cosy evenings (starter logs provided; additional logs £5 per bag)

• A two-seater sofa, armchair with footstool, and a 32-inch SMART TV with Netflix and superfast broadband

The bedroom has a vintage double brass bed with sumptuous mattress, with a large built-in wardrobe just outside the door.

The luxury en-suite shower room features a rain shower and heated towel rail, creating a boutique hotel feel.

Exploring Polperro & Beyond

• The South West Coast Path is an easy 10-minute walk from the cottage, accessed through a nearby woodland trail.

• Polperro Village is just five minutes downhill, leading you straight to the harbourside with stunning views and a tidal beach. The return walk takes around 10 minutes uphill, making it a great way to walk off an indulgent meal!

• Access & Parking: The cottage is on one level, but if arriving on foot from the village, there are 24 steps. If driving, you can park at the door or at the top of the sloped driveway, and we’re happy to help with luggage.

Please note:

• The driving route to the cottage is a 2-mile detour to avoid the village centre and includes some single-lane sections with passing places.

• The cottage is not suitable for children or infants.

• No pets allowed.
Guest access
The entire cottage and hot tub is for your own use. It has its own entrance with private fenced courtyard and large furnished deck.

Please don't play loud music on the deck as we have neighbours.

The path down to Polperro is shared with us.

A Perfect Stay

By Mick on 15-Apr-2025

Had an absolutely perfect stay at Helen and Tim's peaceful cottage in Polperro. It was cosy, comfortable and just what we needed for a relaxing few days away. The hot tub was a particular highlight! Would definitely stay again!

Absolutely Loved It

By Daisy on 19-Apr-2025

We’ve just spent a wonderful four nights here, absolutely loved it. Helen is a wonderful host, property was exactly as described, warm and cosy, lovely homely feel. Big bonus with this property is the free onsite parking, a rarity in Polperro. The walk back up from the village is a bit slower, but is how it’s described in the listing. We preferred to go to & fro the village via Brackenside lane (follow google maps) which continues onto a pretty woodland path and down a long flight of steps coming out near the ice cream shop. The ice cream shop is amazing! Beautiful lunch at The Three Pilchards and the views from the roof terrace eating area are spectacular. Would definitely recommend this property to others. Daisy

Perfect HotTub

By Georgie on 31-Mar-2025

We had a lovely stay here! Helen met us upon arrival, she was lovely and talked us through everything, as well as some restaurant recommendations! The house its self was great! Clean and equipped with everything you’d need! We arrived to some fresh bread and scones which were delicious!! The hot tub was perfect, staying warm and up to temperature throughout its use! We’d definitely stay here again and would recommend to family and friends!

Absolutely Fantastic

By Wayne on 21-Jul-2025

Penlea was absolutely fantastic. Everything we needed for a few days away. Clear instructions on how to get there and very flexible if needed. We had cream tea and chocolate muffins on arrival and Freshly made bread that evening. Oh yes nearly forgot the hot tub and area was perfect as well.

A Wonderful Weekend

By Bethany on 16-Jul-2025

A great base to explore the local area, particularly if you’re keen to walk the coastal path. A wonderful weekend getting a real taste of Cornwall. As other visitors have recommended the tidal pool is worth a visit and I’d recommend walking to Looe. We didn’t venture out much on an evening but Al Freshco (?) did great food and the restaurants and vibe in Looe seemed great and varied.
