Set in a peaceful setting yet just a short walking distance from a historic country pub and Porlock village centre, Exmoor Holidays is a beautifully presented holiday home offering generous, flexible accommodation for guests who value space, comfort, and privacy.
The property includes self-contained ground-floor accommodation, providing an ideal balance of
independence and togetherness. Particularly well suited to larger families and groups of friends comfortably accommodating up to eight guests plus a travel cot. The property is equally popular with one or two guests who may not require all the bedrooms but appreciate the sense of space the house provides.
Exmoor Holidays is an excellent choice for Christmas, New Year, Easter, and special family gatherings, and is especially favoured by multi-generational families, including those holidaying with teenagers or grandparents. The layout allows everyone to enjoy time together while still having
areas of privacy. Its tranquil location and adaptable accommodation also make it ideal for walking/hiking groups, artistic and creative retreats, and photographic holidays, attracting visitors from the UK, Europe, and the USA, all drawn by Exmoor’s dramatic coastline, exceptional light, and unspoilt landscapes.
The property has also hosted universities and academic groups, including archaeological expeditions, as well as discerning groups of friends seeking a peaceful and characterful base from which to explore the Exmoor National Park and its medieval towns and picturesque.
Many rooms enjoy spectacular sea views, while other standout features include a dog friendly secure private
garden with patio and barbecue, a log-burning stove, and a piano, all of which add warmth and character to the home.
Built into the hillside, the main living accommodation is located on the first floor, taking full advantage of the outstanding coastal views. The ground floor provides the fourth bedroom along with its own lounge/dining area and kitchen, offering excellent flexibility for guests. There are 4 w.c's within the property and 2 baths with over the bath showers. Outdoor space includes a private, enclosed garden to the rear with patio and barbecue as well as a smaller garden to the right-hand side of the property—ideal for quiet moments outdoors. (The property is also marketed as 2 separate units of accommodation, with the main accommodation consisting of 3 bedrooms on the first floor called Maxwelton, and the ground floor self-contained apartment called Bracken).

The picturesque friendly village of Porlock is ideally situated for exploring Exmoor National Park and there are numerous beautiful walks from our doorstep inc South West Coastal Path (Salt Path) and Coleridge Way. Lots of activities available nearby inc tennis courts, kyaking, mountain biking, horse riding and fishing. There are regular events taking place in the village throughout the year inc village fete, Xmas fair, Santa Festival, wassailing, duck race and horse show.

Beds were very comfy. A couple of minutes to the village high street, so convenient but not noisy. Lucky with the weather so able to relax on the patio and the dogs were in heaven with the very secure garden. The cottage is great; everything works perfectly once you figure out which button to press. The communication beforehand was excellent. Truly more than helpful and supportive. The Lorna Doone Hotel and the Porlock Weir Hotel are also two wonderful restaurants nearby. We'll be back next year! (Original) Wir waren mit 6 Personen zum Fotografieren für eine Woche in Porlock und haben von dort das Exmoor unter die Räder genommen. Alle fanden es super! Das Cottage ist prima, alles funktioniert einwandfrei, sobald man verstanden hat welcher Knopf zu drücken ist. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war hervorragend. Wirklich mehr als hilfreich und unterstützend. Mit dem Lorna Doone Hotel und Porlock Weir Hotel gibt es außerdem 2 wunderbare Restaurants gleich in der Nähe. Nächstes Jahr kommen wir wieder!
