Description

Porthcothan Mill Cottage is a delightful property dating back to 1597, and is reputed to be the oldest building in the hamlet. It has 3 bedrooms, and is set in extensive gardens situated just 5 minutes walk from Porthcothan Bay. Located at the end of a private road in a peaceful valley, the cottage has a range of original character features, and has been thoughtfully renovated and furnished with a mix of new, vintage and recycled furniture.

Located a 10 to 15 minute drive to both Padstow and Watergate Bay, the cottage is near to some of Cornwall’s most beautiful attractions, including cliff top walks, a range of surfing beaches and excellent pubs and restaurants.

Porthcothan Mill Cottage is perfect for families, friends, as well as your dog, and is available to rent as a self-catering holiday home.

A lovely cottage in a special location

By Ellie on 16-Oct-2020

A lovely cottage in a special location, decorated with lots of nice and arty touches, and the welcome basket was one of the best we’ve had. Everything - like the Nest heating, WiFi and wood burning stove - was easy to work with no problems. The garden was lovely to sit out in, with a sunny spot even for an October breakfast. Porthcothen beach is idyllic and also makes a great base for enjoying the area, such as Padstow and the surf beaches in Newquay. The cream teas at Berryfield 2 minutes away did indeed live up to the claim of being the best in Cornwall- definitely the best we’ve had anyway! Would highly recommend Kate’s place for a comfy and relaxing family break.

A gem of a historic cottage in a magical setting

By Geoff on 17-Dec-2020

A gem of a historic cottage in a magical setting. Beautifully and tastefully fitted out with wonderful garden and easy short walk to the ocean. Hopefully will be able to book again before too long. Many thanks for a great break.

A gorgeous cottage in a wonderful location

By Matt on 31-Dec-2020

A gorgeous cottage in a wonderful location, near some fabulous beaches. Kate is a brilliant host and lots of nice touches, including a Christmas Tree and lots of wood for the wood burner. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and a fantastic garden that the kids loved exploring. We will be back!
