The cottage is thoughtfully arranged to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of space to relax, dine and unwind.

- A stylish kitchen with fridge/freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, and all the essentials

Location:
Just beyond the cattle grid in the North Ridge of the New Forest, Stable Cottage is wonderfully secluded yet well connected. Step out the door to find miles of walking and cycling trails, woodland glades, and grazing ponies. Village shops are a short drive away, and you’re close to Salisbury, Brockenhurst and Southampton for station access and wider adventures.

By Joseph on 14-Aug-2025Astrid was kind enough to meet and greet us when we arrived, which is always reassuring, and was very accommodating of our requests. The place was spotless, the perfect size for our group of 6, and had lots of "nice to haves" that many other places don't, like hair dryers, fans, an ice tray, and spare toilet roll! the beds/sheets/pillows were all actually quite comfy, and as a picky sleeper I had no problems with them. Which again, is not something to take for granted! the TV and sofas were just the right size for a movie night too, and the WiFi was fast enough to stream without any trouble. Location is fantastic, easy off the road parking, lots of beautiful scenery around, and it's in-the-middle-of-no-where enough to enjoy, but still without too much of a drive to the local dominos. Overall we all really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend a stay here to anyone else. Our thanks to Astrid for hosting us!

The accommodation had everything for children and was well equipped and safe, The local milk and cake was a lovely touch. It was about 15 mins from peppa pig world and in a good location

Kind Hosts
By Gagan on 10-Jul-2024Astrid and Mark were very kind and generous hosts, and we were pleasantly surprised to discover a delicious cake (from a local baker) and fresh new forest milk on our arrival. The cottage itself was pristine and very cosy with all necessary comforts. The location is outstanding, right in the heart of the forest. We went for a walk on our first day and within a few minutes of leaving our front door we encountered around 30 new forest ponies and a herd of deer! There are plenty of great pubs that serve food in the area and the guidebook recommendations were spot on. Thanks again guys, we will definitely be back!
