Description
Perfectly located to explore most of Cornwall, being within a short drive to both North & South coast beaches. It's just 5 miles from the nearest beach at Portreath, only 1.5 miles to Redruth Town & supermarkets and Lanner village, with its grocers, pubs, chippy and bakery, is just 1/2 a mile.Handy for Falmouth, Truro, St Ives, St Michaels Mount, The Lizard & many other unique locations to explore.
With private parking by your front door, Quirky Cottage has an enormous, comfortable Emperor size bed, a beautiful bathroom with a walk in shower and a Victorian sink to add to its country cottage feel.
The kitchen is fully equipped with fan oven, hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle etc. Kitchen table and chairs. Plenty of pots & pans, crockery and utensils to make your stay as easy as possible.
The living area has a Smart TV, a large 4 seater sofa that pulls out into a small double bed for a 3rd guest, a bespoke coffee table & plenty of storage. There's also an iron and board, hoover, and cleaning equipment, should the need arise.
There’s fully adjustable underfloor heating on the ground floor, so bring your Netflix details and watch a good movie after a day exploring or tease your brain with one of the board games in the cupboard – just remember to bring your slippers for that ultra cosiness.
For those working nomads, the Wifi is excellent and you'll be assured of finding a great place to set up the lap top.
Outside, there's a Courtyard table & seating in front of the cottage. There's also 4 acres of meadows to relax in, where you can take a picnic, explore and enjoy the magnificent views across the Cornish landscape. A true break away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Just 30 meters from your door is the Tresavean Tramway, steeped in tin mining history and now a rural haven. It's perfect to explore on foot or bike and links to a vast network of Cornish off-road trails.
You will have all the space and fresh air you could ever want, together with lovely bird song & wild natural surroundings.
Just to make your stay even more special we’ve added plenty of extras - Shower gel, shampoo, hand wash & toilet rolls to get you started. We also include many cooking essentials in the kitchen, but if you want a break from the oven, all the take-aways deliver here from Redruth. Not forgetting the local chip shop, there’s also the highly recommended Fox & Hounds nearby at Comford and many other excellent places to eat within a short distance - a real home from home and a 5 star stay.

By Sonja on 29-Feb-2024Visit to Cornwall as my son was getting married at The Cornish Place . Accommodation was conveniently near and easy to find . Sam and Martin were great hosts great instructions and information and were not intrusive but accessible for anything we required . Amenities were great and the accommodation was spotlessly clean . The big bed was definitely a bonus and so comfy .Would highly recommend as in the good weather there are great walks nearby too . Amy’s place and bar nearby and garden centre and a pub Fox and Hounds at Comford just down the road . Local bakery just down the road as well . Had a lovely stay and would definitely visit again . Thank you Sam and Martin for your hospitality xx

A good nights sleep (in the absolutely massive bed)
By Robert Guy on 29-Feb-2024Stayed for a few nights with my partner and pooch in February and found Sarah and Martin's place to be a great place. It's nice and peaceful for a good nights sleep (in the absolutely massive bed) and had all the things we needed for out morning coffee and whipping up some simple meals in the eve. Lots of walking nearby and short drive to more walks and north and south coast beaches. Would recommend for a stay in Cornwall!
A last minute weekend away

The welcome Hamper was a lovely surprise to start our holiday. Daisy enjoyed her walks every day around the fields very nicely kept and the views were amazing. Was sad to pack up after a week stay. By Phil on 31-May-2025We had a fantastic 5 night stay at Quirky cottage with our dog! The cottage had everything we needed and we were made to feel very comfortable throughout our stay. Samantha and Martin were fantastic hosts and were very accommodating. We were lucky enough to be blessed with great weather throughout our stay and enjoyed taking our bbq up to the meadow in the evenings where we could enjoy the view and a peaceful dinner. A lovely stay!
