Spring Stay at Garden Cottage, Richmond
By Harvey on 07-Apr-2026Our 5th visit to Garden Cottage, so, we must like it! As ever, a cosy, well-equipped home-from-home. We have enjoyed pretty good weather and everywhere is resplendent with Daffodils. Enjoyed excellent walks both locally to Easby and Round Howe as well as at Reeth to Grinton and at Hawes along the river. Hope to return in '27.
Welcoming the New Year at Garden Cottage

Our stay has been made all the more enjoyable due to the warm and welcoming nature of your beautiful cottage. The location is fantastic being so near to the town and all its amenities. Can we recommend Shanghai City for a delicious Chinese meal (takeaway only). Thank you Marcia and Dennis and we look forward to returning to your cottage in the near future!

By Sekers on 15-May-2026Thank you, Marcia and Dennis, for a really enjoyable few days (too few) at Garden Cottage. We have returned home to Somerset feeling homesick for Richmond. What a wonderful town and made so much more interesting thanks to your enthusiasm, Marcia. The garden is a joy, and full of interesting history and plants. It will continue to grow, but will remain romantic, quiet and a very special place. We all three appreciated the amenities, the generous welcome basket (fruit cake and Wensleydale cheese especially), the fresh flowers from the garden, and the recommendations to places e.g. the Green Frog nursery. I do hope we'll be back before too long. AND Richmond is such an attractive town, we can't wait to return. Wonderful architecture and, almost best of all, Fantastic walks in every direction.
