NEARBY PLACES OF INTEREST:
Oppede le Vieux 7km: Situated halfway up the northern slopes of the Luberon massif, the dramatic and haunting Oppède le Vieux is coming back to life after years of abandonment. This magnificent little hill-top village is built high on a rocky outcrop. To visit, leave your car in the carpark at the base of the village before following the picturesque path up the hill. You will be enchanted by this historic village and it is a pleasure to wander around this village and admire the charming 15th and 16th century houses that have been skilfully restored.
L’Isle sur la Sorgue 10km: L’Isle sur la Sorgue is a pretty market town, much loved for its antique shops and twice weekly markets. Once an important fishing town, with an abundance of crayfish in the River Sorgue, there are also several canals running through the centre. Perhaps, unsurprisingly, the town has been called the Venice of Provence. The river has influenced the development of the town, providing for thriving crafts and industries, flour mills, wool and silk workshops. Many of the waterwheels remain adding to the picturesque charm of the town. Each Sunday there is quite a carnival atmosphere with a flea market, regarded as of the best antique markets in France (Thursday in normal market day).
Gordes 12km: The village of Gordes is one of the most photographed villages of Provence and a number of famous films such as A Year in Provence or more recently A Good Year directed by Ridley Scott have been set in the village. Just a mile from Gordes is the Village des Bories, an open-air museum made up of twenty or so traditional drystone huts that have been reconstructed in celebration of the skills and beauty of this architectural style which stretches back over many centuries.
Bonnieux 20km: Bonnieux is one of the most impressive village of the Luberon region not only in size but also in amenities with a whole array of restaurants, cafes, a good market on Friday and even a bakery museum.
Lourmarin 34km: Much like Oppede le Vieux, Lourmarin is often referred to as the jewel of the region and one of the most beautiful villages in France. A must see and a real delight in the summer with cafes, restaurants, shops and castle.
Avignon 44km: Avignon, on the banks of the Rhone, is probably best-known these days for the children’s song – Sur le Pont d’Avignon. But for several decades in the 14th century, it was the capital of Christendom, after Pope Clement V moved his court here to avoid the chaos in Rome. The legacy of that papal schism can be seen today in the city’s UNESCO-protected architecture, including the vast Palais des Papes. And nearby Châteauneuf-du-Pape, site of a now-ruined castle built by a later pope, still produces acclaimed red wines. The city’s intact ramparts and pedestrianised centre lend Avignon a small-town, medieval feel. Yet each July, the city goes totally 21st century, as thousands of visitors descend for a contemporary performing arts extravaganza, the Festival d’Avignon.
Parc Naturel Regional Du Luberon: This is a region of stunning natural beauty with superb, varied scenery and outstanding views. To the north you will find the wild mountain scenery of the Vaucluse hills and famous Mont Ventoux, To the south the amazing oak and pine covered slopes of the Luberon mountains. The Luberon valley is dotted with vineyards, cherry orchards and lavender fields enhanced by stunning hill-top villages. This region is also renowned for its quality restaurants and locally produced fruit, cheeses, honey and many other irresistible delights. You will also find many very good local vineyards producing excellent Cotes du Luberon and Cotes de Ventoux with tastings available at all the small Domains as well as the two big ‘Cave Cooperatives’. Colourful Provencal fabrics and beautiful table linen are also available in the charming local markets along with a large variety of pottery. Several villages have art galleries where you can view and buy from local artists.
Colorado Provencal 39km: A unique and colourful desert scenery with yellow and red rock formations in former ochre-mining quarries. This unusual area is perfect for walking with several kilometres of footpaths. The Ochre trail located in Rustrel which is a tiny village dominated by a 17th Century Chateau is worth doing.
NEARBY ACTIVITIES
Tennis: 1km.
Golf course: 3km.
Horse-riding: 1km.
Cycling: Cycle route all along the valley and beyond towards the Alpes de Haute Provence: 1km.
Hiking: Many hiking trails can easily be reached on foot directly from the property.

Leave ReviewLa Maison de Robion
By Ryan B on 12-Jul-2025It was all excellent. The key holder was charming and helpful on arrival and departure. We had issues with both a flush mechanism on a toilet on Saturday, as well as the new aircon unit leaking which meant we couldn’t use it until the plumbers came. They arrived Tuesday and repaired both. It was not an issue as we were such a small party. The house and pool are both very enjoyable, all large enough to accommodate our small party but we would consider returning next year with a larger party. Robion is a very useful central Provence location, easy to reach towns and villages were all within 30 ish minutes. It feels a very homely and personable house (adore the fully stocked kitchenware) which is very comfortable, both aesthetically and physically.

By Thomas on 22-Jul-2023Our family of five plus dog had the pleasure of staying in this fabulous villa for a week in July. The villa, the pool, the view of the mountains, the garden, the peace and quiet… all were superb. The housekeeper was very helpful and responsive to all our questions. The small village of Robion is very friendly and welcoming, with a couple of bars and restaurants, boulangeries, grocery stores, etc. Hiking up in the nearby Luberon is spectacular but has to be done v early in the morning during the summer due to the heat.

By Allan J on 15-Jul-2023We had fantastic week at La Maison du Robion, it’s a beautiful home and we loved it. The key holder was very welcoming and the provisions supplied for our arrival were lovely and much appreciated. The pool is fantastic and the outdoor living space is amazing. Robion is a great location with really good shops and plenty to do in the area. It was a great week- it’s a fantastic place for a holiday. A couple of (very minor) pieces of feedback for consideration- the mosquitoes were vicious and we were bitten badly on our first couple of evenings- not anyone’s fault but we could have been better prepared! Evenings were much improved by some mosquito coils and citronella candles- with adding to the welcome pack? Secondly, it might just be me, but paying separately for electricity at the end of our stay seemed odd, and out of keeping with the price and quality of the house. We’ve rented extensively around France and elsewhere and not had to do this. Thanks again for everyone’s hospitality.

By Martina A on 18-Sep-2021This accommodation is extraordinary. Both owners are superb hosts in every way. Taking a shower outside, even in the rain, is unique. The starry sky above the Luberon is incredible to look at. If you are looking for peace and relaxation from everyday life, it can be just the thing for you.

By Philip on 07-Aug-2021The property is wonderful and exactly as it has been described. The owner is extremely friendly, helpful and always has good tips on what to experience in the area. Everything was clean, there is everything you need, the garden is beautiful, the location top, and the view of the Luberon hard to beat. We can only recommend the property and would have loved to stay longer.
