Pencraig Court was until recently an 11 bedroom country house hotel. The new owners have converted it into a big house holiday let on a self-catering basis. It sleeps 36 people in 11 en suite bedrooms in the main house and 8 in the attached 3 bedroom Carefree Cottage. Either can be booked separately or together. The Cottage also has its own sitting/dining room and kitchen and bathroom as well as a ground floor w/c.
Although Pencraig Court sits in its own grounds midway between Ross and Monmouth just off the A40 overlooking the River Wye, a 10 minute drive will take you to the heart of the beautiful town of Monmouth with half a dozen excellent pubs and restaurants to choose from, giving you the very best of town and country. Head in the opposite direction and in 20 minutes you’ll be in the Forest of Dean with a staggering array of activities for people of every age and interest. Symonds Yat and Ross-on-Wye are no more than a 5 minute drive.
Inside Pencraig Court there's more than enough space to sleep 42 (+ 2 z beds) in 14 bedrooms (11 en suites), plus there’s a couple of cots for the youngest in your group. There’s ample comfortable mingling space in the lounges and the dining room comfortably accommodates everybody round the tables. The large kitchen makes entertaining a breeze. A games room with table tennis, pool and table football will keep everybody amused; plus a hot tub can be hired at cost to unwind after a day's walking, canoeing or cycling in the nearby Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.
Outside there’s a garden, barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating where you can relax and watch the River Wye slowly wind its way downstream to Monmouth. There’s fishing nearby, wild swimming a short walk up river, and lovely walks straight from your front door. Pencraig Court is a family oriented venue, not suited to rowdy parties or external amplified music; this large holiday house near Symonds Yat really is a paradise for adults, kids and pets.
