Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.Pencraig Court, Pencraig, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, sleeps 20-42 in 14 bedrooms.
Pencraig Court was until recently an 11 bedroom country house hotel. The new owners have converted it into a big house holiday let on a self-catering basis. It sleeps 36 people in 11 en suite bedrooms in the main house and 8 in the attached 3 bedroom Carefree Cottage. Either can be booked separately or together. The Cottage also has its own sitting/dining room and kitchen and bathroom as well as a ground floor w/c.
Although Pencraig Court sits in its own grounds midway between Ross and Monmouth just off the A40 overlooking the River Wye, a 10 minute drive will take you to the heart of the beautiful town of Monmouth with half a dozen excellent pubs and restaurants to choose from, giving you the very best of town and country. Head in the opposite direction and in 20 minutes you’ll be in the Forest of Dean with a staggering array of activities for people of every age and interest. Symonds Yat and Ross-on-Wye are no more than a 5 minute drive.
Inside Pencraig Court there's more than enough space to sleep 42 (+ 2 z beds) in 14 bedrooms (11 en suites), plus there’s a couple of cots for the youngest in your group. There’s ample comfortable mingling space in the lounges and the dining room comfortably accommodates everybody round the tables. The large kitchen makes entertaining a breeze. A games room , pool and table football will keep everybody amused; plus a hot tub can be hired at cost to unwind after a day's walking, canoeing or cycling in the nearby Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.
Outside there’s a garden, barbecue area and plenty of outdoor seating where you can relax and watch the River Wye slowly wind its way downstream to Monmouth. There’s fishing nearby, wild swimming a short walk up river, and lovely walks straight from your front door. Pencraig Court is a family oriented venue, not suited to rowdy parties or external amplified music; this large holiday house near Symonds Yat really is a paradise for adults, kids and pets. Well behaved Stag (up to 15 guests) and Hen parties welcome

By Tim on 03-Sep-2024Symonds Yat Canoe centre if your into SUP or canoeing. Well run and friendly. You have to have floatation vests or you can’t get in. They rent them very reasonably.

We had a great time in the house planning our own indoor activities and enjoying time together. The beauty of the place is unmatched, especially the trek down to the River Wye. Very spacious house, especially the living room and the kitchen.

By Kate on 25-Aug-2024We had a fantastic time going to Raglan Castle. There was a lot to explore there and the kids loved it. We also had an amazing day out at the Forest of Dean. The playground and sculpture trail were great. We loved the size of the property and that there were good communal spaces both in the lounge and outside. The grounds are lovely and gave the children plenty of room to play and explore. There was a decent amount of fridge space to accommodate us all and the ovens were sufficient too. We enjoyed the table football for the little-uns and games room for the adults. All in all, it was a great space for 9 families to stay and catch up with friends. Thank you Pencraig Court!

Pencraig is set up perfectly with various bedrooms catering 2 - 5 people and lots of space for everyone to enjoy. The garden is a great size and the views are beautiful. The kitchen had everything you could need and it was all very homely.

By Lauren on 08-Jun-2024The whole experience was brilliant, From booking to the stay itself. Everything with the house was perfect for what we needed. The welcome box of chocolates and birthday ballon were a lovely touch. The garden was gorgeous and luscious. We loved the kitchen and that it was fully stocked with all the equipment etc. We made good use of the games rooms and appreciated how much there was to do in the house itself. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a place to gather a large group of friends. The surrounding area was stunning. Recommends Canoeing on the river Wye
