The Forges

Our beautiful little manor house is located at the crossroads of the Sarthe, Mayenne, and Maine et Loire. It is cozy, secretive, silent and charming. The traditional french country atmosphere that you will love.

- It has many small peaceful places: terraces, a pergola where to lunch and dine in summer, a park of nearly 7 hectares planted with multiple species, meadows, coppices, an orchard, large oaks where you can rest in the shade...
It is an authentic paradise.

- The equipment is complete: large swimming pool (12x6) secure and heated (in season), beautiful quick tennis court, sauna, fitness and massage area, illuminated terrace for dinner in the evening, a plancha under the garland of guingette by the pool, a barbecue... Inside: large "Souveraine de Godin" cooker, 12-seater dining room, large fireplace in the living room, wood inserts in the bedrooms... but you will not need those in our hot summer !

- If you're a fan, Le Mans is 50 minutes away. To go see the 24 hours, Le Classique, or one of the 22 events planned in 2026: it's perfect.
We are also Le Mans Classic fans and our home is the home of a 1938 MG TA.

In a completely different style, every guest should visit
° The very spectacular Abbaye de Solesmes, 15 minutes drive away.
° Angers, offering a typical historical town center with dozens of charming streets, shops, café and the museum that is the shelter of the world unique "chef d'oeuvre", the 140 m long tapestry of the Apocalypse and its mysteries.
° Our region is also the gate to the Loire Valley and all its jewels.

- We have an exceptional asset of good products : fruits and vegetables, the very best meat, good wines such as the Bourgueil, Coteaux du Loir, Jasnières ...Places to eat gastro food just near by : Grand Hotel de Solemes and La Terrasse in Sablé sur Sarthe.

- For nature lovers, the number of hikes, horseback riding, cycling is unlimited (check the app : "All Trails"). The Mayenne is a place with the right balance: a magnificent nature, populated by animals, also one of the highest densities in France of stud farms, manors, chateaux, farms breeding of beautiful cows...

- Two large navigable rivers (Mayenne and Sarthe) are nearby (boat rentals at many spots).

- It's the beautiful France that we love and all about 1h02 by TGV from Paris (the TGV station is 8 minutes from the house).

- We are also approximately 50 minutes from Le Mans, Angers, Laval and an hour and a half from Rennes by car.

- There are many parking spaces and the property is protected and hidden.

A spiral staircase that leads to 4 bedroom all with their private bathrooms.

There's a unique very charming atmosphere

Check in is usually around 4pm
check out aroud 11am
But really, we are flexible.

Access by car or train is very easy.

There's a reservation fee & full payment is done when given the keys.

PS: you may be surprised that there are not comments on the property. All normal. It's our 1st season with Simply Owners :-). Call me for any questions.
