Description

Musselwick Cottage is a delightful cosy retreat in a great location. The Wales Coastal path is just metres up the road, and the beautiful beach, and large creek, of Sandy Haven just a bit further on. You can walk to both in around five minutes. Sandy Haven beach is revealed in its full glory at low tide, with interesting rockpools and low wooded cliffs. It’s a great place for catching crabs as they seem to love the waters under the small bridge that is revealed as the tide goes out. This is a perfect spot for explorers of all ages and for dogs who love to run free. Pembrokeshire itself is a paradise for walkers and the hidden gems of Monk Haven and Dale are easy walks along the coastal path from the cottage.

The cottage is cosy with plenty character and retains many of its original features. It has a log burning stove in the dining area and the upstairs lounge is centrally heated. The cottage itself has been decorated with character and with an eye for detail. All the rooms are a good size, giving the cottage a feeling of space and comfort, even for a group of six adults. The velux windows upstairs and large farm-style windows downstairs ensure the cottage is flooded with natural light. There is a family bathroom downstairs and an en-suite in the upstairs bedroom. There is also a good sized, sheltered and fully enclosed garden which guests, and their dogs, can enjoy. The cottage may not be suitable for those with mobility issues, due to the upstairs living area and two internal steps downstairs - please bear this in mind when booking.

The cottage is a converted farm building and is part of Skerryback Farm Cottages, a farm that was developed as purpose-built holiday cottages around 10 years ago. It therefore benefits from a shared children’s play area, some shared outside spaces and a games room, giving our younger guests and teenagers some independence and enjoyment on their doorstep. The games room has a pool table, table tennis and table football as well as plenty of board games..

Musselwick Cottage is about a 15-minute drive from Milford Haven where there are two large supermakets and all your local amenities. There are also some great places to eat on the harbour. The surrounding countryside, especially the short walk to the beach, is stunning. Other beautiful beaches very close by are Dale, Little Haven and St Brides and a little further away (around 15 mins by car) are Nolton Haven, Broadhaven and Newgale. So, the location is rural but still well connected, not just by road and facilities, but we also have fast Wifi and a Smart TV!

In terms of practicalities, we work on a SATURDAY CHANGEOVER. There may be some flexibility on this out of high season but we accept weekly bookings only during summer school holidays (Saturday to Saturday). Short breaks are available out of high season, usually at 50-75% of the weekly tariff. Please check with us for the exact price. Please also get in touch if you have any questions or particular needs – we are keen to make your holiday a joyful one where you can create plenty of lasting memories.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS THE ONLY LEGITIMATE PLACE TO BOOK MUSSELWICK COTTAGE - THERE ARE A LOT OF UNETHICAL COMPANIES OUT THERE WHO WILL TAKE BOGUS BOOKINGS, SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL.

Idyllic house and location

By Clare Pursehouse on 08-Apr-2023

Lovely property, extremely homely and comfortable. Had everything we needed. Easy to book, great communication. Lovely location, a short walk to the sea! Wonderful walks very close by so was great not to have to use our car. However, car needed due to rural location.

A great holiday rental

By Marilyn on 13-Aug-2022

A lovely, homely cottage for 3 generations to holiday in. Very comfortable accommodation with everything you could need. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and glorious sandy beaches. Walks from the cottage along the coastal path and a small inlet for swimming. Good pubs within a short drive for a meal and places of interest to visit eg Pembroke Castle and St David’s. Hopeful we will return.

Owner response on 19-Feb-2023

Thank you Marilyn. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay and we hope to welcome you again one day.
