Description
A stone’s throw from the South West Coast Path and the sandy beaches of Sennen Cove and Gwenver the quaint white-washed Rosemary Cottage warmly welcomes visitors. Its slatted wooden gate opens on to the pretty front garden, as the picture-book aspect of the cottage entices you to enter.
Open the front door and step into a rustic garden room bursting with colourful plants and a grapevine – a fairy-tale stone grotto sparsely furnished with a shabby chic bench and table where you can while away the evenings with a tasty tipple, or enjoy leisurely meals. There’s plenty of room for piling up surfboards and storing wetsuits and holiday paraphernalia, or for drying off muddy paws. Here you’ll find a stained-glass panelled front door leading straight into a comfortable, light, bright living room with its original beams and rough granite walls. Here you can settle in on the comfy sofas on chilly evenings in front of the log stove in its large stone fireplace, turn on the TV or put your feet up with a good book.
Step through a gothic oak door into the second reception room and you’ll find another fireplace dominating a delightful dining and sitting area, perfect for gathering the family round the table to linger over a tasty meal. There are plenty of books, games, DVDs and a Bluetooth music player/radio.
Even if you’re not inclined to do much cooking on your holiday, you’ll probably not be able to resist the well-equipped farmhouse kitchen with its fitted units, tiled floor, rangemaster cooker, and dishwasher – and if you’re a keen cook you’ll be in seventh heaven! If all else fails, through the door leading from the kitchen there’s always the enclosed rear courtyard just crying out for a barbecue or breakfast on a sunny morning.
There is a downstairs cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin.
And so to bed: Carpeted stairs lead up to three quintessentially cottagey bedrooms, with pristine white walls and comfortable beds – two double bedrooms looking out to sea views in the front, and a third with two single beds at the rear overlooking the courtyard. The single beds can be joined to create a Super Kingsize double.
The bedrooms share a clean, neat family bathroom, recently refurbished with a full height shower over bath.
Up to 2 dogs are very welcome for an additional small fee.
All bed linen is provided, plus towels, tea towels, oven gloves.
