Overview
Description
Last minute booking discounts available. Southwinds is a detached bungalow in an enviable position in Upper Solva, with uninterrupted sea views over St. Brides Bay. Tucked away along a footpath it is in a quiet position but within walking distance of the beach, local pubs and restaurants. An idea place to relax and as a base for exploring the Pembrokeshire National Park and surrounding area. The open plan lounge/diner has a bright conservatory with views to the sea. The open fire is lovely for those cosy winter evenings. An easy walk takes you to the Pembrokeshire coastal path - which runs for 186 miles from Amroth to St Dogmaels.
There are 2 bedrooms, the kingsize with it's picture window and view over the harbour, great for a long lie in and enjoy the view.
The pleasant twin has a garden view. There is a good sized garden and patio where you can relax with a coffee or glass of wine and let the world go by. Being close to the beach and Solva harbour it's makes a great base for a family holiday too. There is an unfenced drop from the patio to the path so care is needed here. It's a great place for dog walking and we welcome dogs, but be aware that the garden is not dog secure.
There is no allocated parking. The unloading area is at the end of the footpath and you can park near the green if space or roadside around the corner. For further details please contact me. Thanks

Leave ReviewMost brilliant view and comfy home at Southwinds
By Ashley Bowes on 20-Apr-2025One of the most perfect locations for walking and sitting and gazing! Solva is a lovely harbour village an easy walking distance from the house and St Davids is a stones throw away. Southwinds is ideally located. The view is outstanding and the house is comfortable and well equipped. Have stayed a couple of times and will stay again. And Again!
Winter short break
By Lynda Milbourne on 01-Feb-2025Lovely base for a lovely area. Weather was stormy but the cottage was cosy. Stunning sea views and right on the coastal path.

Perfect Location
By Emily on 12-Apr-2025Fantastic holiday cottage with everything we need. Stunning view from the cottage. The owner was really helpful and good at communicating instructions. Would definitely stay again.
Could be a little Gem.
By Glynis Lofty on 14-Feb-2025We go away around 6 times a year and this looked perfect. This is a fab location and could be a lovely stay but the information given needs to be more accurate. We arrived after been stuck on the motorway for 3 hours so it was late and very dark, finding the cottage took 15 minutes The path to the cottage is down a little thin muddy track that you have to park then walk down to unload ,it becomes very slippy because its a public footpath and goes around the outside of the garden gate and out to the front big windows you see in the picture. The public footpath goes right under the window and because its not mentioned I got a shock to find 8 people looking at me with my dressing gown on sitting down reading, the bottom half off the window needs a little privacy screen putting on it wont stop the view but it will stop the many walkers looking in and give you more privacy. The window in the bedroom is in need of replacement and due to the location and the wear and tear of the window it rattles and shakes all night. This could be a lovely place if its made more secure around the garden to stop children and animals wondering off. The recycling bins in the kitchen need to be put in a storage out of the kitchen they take up so much room we do recycle but would prefer they were kept outside as after a week you get quite a lot of it . The walk to the pub is lovely and the food was very nice and fresh. We visited numerous times. The village shop is well stocked but as with all village shops its quite pricey but for convenience its great. Please put pictures of the walkway and the public footpath on the description its quite important people see this before booking.
Amazing location with fantastic views
By on 20-Sep-2018Lovely cottage with incredible views over the Solva coastline and a short walk from the harbour, pubs and restaurants. We've just had an amazing, relaxing week at Southwinds and would definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you're visiting Solva. Christine was really helpful and friendly and did everything to make our stay special. The view from the breakfast table on a sunny morning is quite spectacular, and who needs a tv when outdoors looks like that? The kids loved the walk down the path to the harbour, and running around the gardens. The rooms and beds were all really comfortable and the new kitchen is great. The only reason we didn't give the cottage a 5 is because we thought it could have been a bit cleaner. It certainly wasn't dirty and maybe it was because it was the end of the season, but it felt (kitchen apart) like it needed a proper clean. Would definitely recommend this place though, good value for money and a fantastic holiday all round - thank you!
