Description

1 Porthminster Apartments is tucked away in a leafy corner at the top of Porthminster Terrace, on the east side of St Ives. This means you don't have to negotiate the narrow streets of the town to access it. It's a fairly quiet spot, ideal for admiring the lovely sea view from the front garden or enjoying meals and evening drinks in the courtyard in the afternoon and evening sunshine.

The apartment is situated on the ground-floor of a recently renovated end of terrace Victorian house with a dedicated private parking space, which is easily accessed, right outside the apartment, between the front garden and the courtyard. It has a lockable parking post.

South-facing and sunny with a fine sea view from the side bay window of the sitting room and from the front garden, the apartment is light and spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard.

PLEASE NOTE:
The apartment is essentially 2-bedroomed, but from October (except for half-term) to Easter we only offer it as one-bedroom option, using the courtyard bedroom with ensuite bathroom, large sitting room, dining area and kitchen. This option is for 1 or 2 people and includes full use of the whole apartment plus the front garden and side courtyard, except for the back bedroom and bathroom which will be locked and unoccupied.

The BEDROOM has a comfortable king-sized bed, wardrobe and bedside tables plus an EN SUITE BATHROOM with modern, luxury fittings - a bath with powerful shower over, WC & washbasin. An attractive west facing COURTYARD leads from this bedroom. This is for visitors' sole use with a dining set to seat 4 people. The front garden enjoys a southerly aspect and the courtyard is west-facing - ideal for evening dining! The location is quiet and we ask visitors not to party or play loud music.

A well equipped, open-plan KITCHEN leads from the spacious SITTING/DINING ROOM where you have attractive, comfortable seating, 40" flatscreen TV + DVD player, plus a lovely coastal view from the side bay window. The bay window also overlooks the pretty front garden. This is also for guests' sole use and also enjoys the fine sea view,

We welcome babies and, if required, a travel cot and high chair is available on request - we hire baby equipment from our cleaning company and pass on the small charge at cost to our guests.

Regrettably we cannot accept pets.

It's a short, 5-minute stroll to Porthminster beach, St Ives' bustling centre, pretty harbour, galleries, restaurants and fascinating shops. St Ives' other lovely beaches are all within walking distance too but please note: St Ives is hilly and the apartment is situated on a short but fairly steep terrace. The walk to and from the beach and the town also involves some steps and some steep walking at times.

Our apartment is cleaned by a professional and reliable housekeeping company whose staff have been trained to carry out exacting cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Our housekeeping services can be contacted during your stay should you have any queries.

We only accept bookings from single people or couples.

In the event of your having to cancel your reservation during a period of travel restrictions due to CoVid19, we will refund all monies paid. Please see our T&Cs, available on request.

Facilities include: Welcome pack on arrival, free wi-fi, gas central heating/instant hot water, heated towel rails; duvets, clean fresh bedding and towels (1 x bath sheet + 1 x hand towel per person) are supplied and the beds are made up; washer/dryer, Bosch electric fan oven, gas hob with extractor, microwave, freestanding fridge/freezer, dishwasher; double glazed throughout, flat screen digital 40" TV in sitting room with Freeview, DVD player.

Please note: we ask for a 25% reservation deposit on booking, plus a £150 damage deposit to be paid with the balance (due 6 weeks before arrival). The damage deposit is normally refunded within a week of your departure, assuming no damage. We accept bank transfer or cheque.

A lovely stay over Christmas

We had a lovely stay over Christmas. Good location to walk to everywhere, very quiet and it was good to have the car park space right outside. Had everything we needed in the apartment, even to cook a Christmas dinner! We were given very clear instructions to get into the apartment/car park space and there was a handy folder with information inside. Plenty of hot water, heating was good and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed spending Christmas here and would recommend a stay here.

A great place to stay while visiting St Ives. 10 minute walk to the town centre and with parking makes this a great location. Lauran provided lots of information and was always responsive. Would definitely stay here again if visiting St Ives.

We absolutely loved our stay at this apartment. The location was just perfect, the apartment had everything that we needed and was beautifully decorated. It was quick and easy to walk down to the beach and into the main part of town. It was also a great base to explore other areas of Cornwall. It was great to have a parking space too! Lauran was quick to respond when we had a query and she and Chris were both prompt in trying to provide a solution. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We really enjoyed our stay in Lauran’s apartment, location was excellent only a few minutes walk to the beach or the harbour .The benefit of a parking place in St Ives cannot be underestimated both financially and for convenience. The apartment was as described and the photos a true reflection. Lauran provided very a very useful information pack which included helpful tips on the area . Would not hesitate in staying here should we visit St Ives in the future.
