Description
1 Porthminster Apartments is tucked away in a leafy corner at the top of Porthminster Terrace, on the east side of St Ives. This means you don't have to negotiate the narrow streets of the town to access it. It's a fairly quiet spot, ideal for admiring the lovely sea view from the front garden or enjoying meals and evening drinks in the courtyard in the afternoon and evening sunshine.The apartment is situated on the ground-floor of a recently renovated end of terrace Victorian house with a dedicated private parking space, which is easily accessed, right outside the apartment, between the front garden and the courtyard. It has a lockable parking post.
South-facing and sunny with a fine sea view from the side bay window of the sitting room and from the front garden, the apartment is light and spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard.
PLEASE NOTE:
The apartment is essentially 2-bedroomed, but from October (except for half-term) to Easter we only offer it as one-bedroom option, using the courtyard bedroom with ensuite bathroom, large sitting room, dining area and kitchen. This option is for 1 or 2 people and includes full use of the whole apartment plus the front garden and side courtyard, except for the back bedroom and bathroom which will be locked and unoccupied.
The BEDROOM has a comfortable king-sized bed, wardrobe and bedside tables plus an EN SUITE BATHROOM with modern, luxury fittings - a bath with powerful shower over, WC & washbasin. An attractive west facing COURTYARD leads from this bedroom. This is for visitors' sole use with a dining set to seat 4 people. The front garden enjoys a southerly aspect and the courtyard is west-facing - ideal for evening dining! The location is quiet and we ask visitors not to party or play loud music.
A well equipped, open-plan KITCHEN leads from the spacious SITTING/DINING ROOM where you have attractive, comfortable seating, 40" flatscreen Smart TV + DVD player, plus a lovely coastal view from the side bay window. The bay window also overlooks the pretty front garden. This is also for guests' sole use and also enjoys the fine sea view,
We welcome babies and, if required, a travel cot and high chair is available on request - we hire baby equipment from our cleaning company and pass on the small charge at cost to our guests.
Regrettably we cannot accept pets.
It's a short, 5-minute stroll to Porthminster beach, St Ives' bustling centre, pretty harbour, galleries, restaurants and fascinating shops. St Ives' other lovely beaches are all within walking distance too but please note: St Ives is hilly and the apartment is situated on a short but fairly steep terrace. The walk to and from the beach and the town also involves some steps and some steep walking at times.
Our apartment is cleaned by a professional and reliable housekeeping company whose staff have been trained to carry out exacting cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Our housekeeping services can be contacted during your stay should you have any queries.
We only accept bookings from single people or couples.
In the event of your having to cancel your reservation during a period of travel restrictions due to CoVid19, we will refund all monies paid. Please see our T&Cs, available on request.
Facilities include: Welcome pack on arrival, free wi-fi, gas central heating/instant hot water, heated towel rails; duvets, clean fresh bedding and towels (1 x bath sheet + 1 x hand towel per person) are supplied and the beds are made up; washer/dryer, Bosch electric fan oven, gas hob with extractor, microwave, freestanding fridge/freezer, dishwasher; double glazed throughout, flat screen digital 40" Smart TV in sitting room with DVD player.

Please note: we ask for a 25% reservation deposit on booking, plus a £150 damage deposit to be paid with the balance (due 6 weeks before arrival). The damage deposit is normally refunded within a week of your departure, assuming no damage. We accept bank transfer or cheque.

It was my second time staying at Lauran's place
By Helen on 03-May-2026It was my second time staying at Lauran’s place and my stay was just as good as the first time. The apartment is airy and spacious and well equipped with everything I needed. It’s a short easy walk down to the town centre and i think Lauran charges a really good rate bearing in mind the excellent location. The parking space at the apartment is really invaluable given that I didn’t always want to use my car during my holiday.
Loads of natural light and a sea view

Lauran’s communication is second to none, really clear directions and check in details as well as a comprehensive folder at the property. The dedicated parking space is worth its weight in gold and the flat is 5 mins walk from Porthminster beach, bars & restaurants. The neighbourhood is private and quiet, despite being close to town. Inside the flat is super clean with a spacious lounge, kitchen, diner - loads of natural light and a sea view. A comfy bed and en suite bathroom, along with a private sunken courtyard to catch the last of the sun. We would 100% recommend both property and host to anyone visiting St Ives.

By Colin on 25-Apr-2026As a couple visiting St Ives for the first time, we very much enjoyed our stay at Lauran's lovely apartment. Lauran was an excellent host, providing lots of useful information, such suggestions for places to visit and eat etc. Instructions for managing the apartment were clear and easy to follow. The apartment is in a quiet residential area and was very near to the beautiful Porthminster Beach. From there, we were able to walk the coastal path to the stunning Carbis Bay and beyond. The addition of a private parking space at the apartment was a real bonus and we chose to leave the car parked for the duration of our stay and explore everywhere on foot. The walk into St Ives is not far. At the time of our visit, there were some chilly evenings and it was great to come back to a warm and cosy apartment with instant hot water always available. I would recommend staying at Lauran's apartment and would certainly stay there again the next time we visit St Ives.

A lovely stay over Christmas
By Alan on 28-Dec-2025We had a lovely stay over Christmas. Good location to walk to everywhere, very quiet and it was good to have the car park space right outside. Had everything we needed in the apartment, even to cook a Christmas dinner! We were given very clear instructions to get into the apartment/car park space and there was a handy folder with information inside. Plenty of hot water, heating was good and the bed was very comfortable. We really enjoyed spending Christmas here and would recommend a stay here.
