Cowries, St Merryn is a dog friendly, beautifully presented, modern and spacious three bedroom, holiday house located in the heart of St Merryn village, Padstow, Cornwall, within easy walking distance of pubs, shops, takeaways and excellent restaurants.For 2026 we are changing the changeover day to Saturday.
Cowries, St Merryn, holiday home, provides a spacious, comfortable base for your holiday which you will look forward to returning to after a day spent enjoying the nearby beaches, cliff top walking or touring around the beautiful Cornish countryside.
Cowries, St Merryn is at the heart of the pretty village of St Merryn on Cornwall’s north coast and is ideally located for access to seven beautiful beaches and bays, one for every day of the week!
Guests at Cowries, St Merryn have the benefits of a smaller village but with Padstow town only a short distance away. This fantastic holiday destination is popular with foodies and walkers alike. The bustling working harbour is surrounded by gift shops, galleries and a whole host of restaurants.

By Guy Photos on 10-Sep-2023Think this is our fourth visit to Cowries. Lovely cottage, utterly spotless (shout out to the cleaners!), perfect location and good value. Also has some lovely neighbours too! And everywhere is so dog friendly Missing Cowries already!
Home from Home!!!
By Debbie Matthews on 27-Feb-2023I have stayed in Padstow every winter for the past 8 years as I love it so much, so I was a little unsure to be staying in St Merryn this time but all I can say is WOW! Location location location!!! It’s perfect!!! The house is totally awesome! It’s like staying in a 4 star hotel, only better! The fixtures and fittings are all hotel quality, same with the beds and sofas! St Merryn is beautiful, and so convenient for all the stunning bays close by, the highlight to all of this being that it’s dog friendly too so me and my pooch had a ball every day!!! I would highly recommend Cowries as a 5 star dog friendly home, that I will most certainly be staying at again!!! Thank you for my wonderful holiday @cowries we love you!!!!
The area is perfect for family holidays and we have already booked for next year!

This was our second stay at Cowries (May 2022) and we love it. Everything you could need is provided and it is such a modern, stylish and comfortable home. The location is brilliant for some of the best bays in Cornwall on your doorstep - six out of the seven bays are dog friendly all year round, perfect! Enclosed and secure garden for our dog and parking right outside is great. Nothing is too much trouble for Bryony the owner, who is keen and happy to sort any queries and to help you have the best holiday.

By Suzy Roach on 22-Apr-2022Had another amazing holiday at this wonderful house It has everything you need and more and is situated so close to Padstow which we love.Wonderful walks at the Seven Bays and Barnecutts Bakery is to die for.We have one more day left and will be back for 2 weeks in October.But I also have to say a huge thank you to the owner Bryony as she is great and always looks after us.Thanks again love Suzy Kevin and Patch our Dog xxx
