Description
Tucked into the perimeter hedgerows and native trees of a hillside meadow, the huts are situated privately from each other and enjoy stunning southern views across Taunton ValeWatch the red deer at dawn, light the woodburner and curl up on the cosy bed to read a book. Enjoy spectacular sunsets over Exmoor National Park as you sip a glass of locally brewed ale or English fizz.
Use of the private wood-fired hot tub is free for your entire stay. If you would like it pre heated so that its hot when you arrive we charge an extra £20. Only possible with arrivals before 7.00pm. The Hot Tub takes two hours to heat up. We can also heat the Hot tub for you during your stay so you can go for a walk and come back to a steaming hot soak. Subject to staff availability.
At the heart of each hut, a wood burning Devon forge baker stove provides warmth and a cosy environment in which to relax.
Each hut has a stylish “English” interior with Farrow & Ball painted woodwork, William Morris printed roman blinds and Sanderson plaid cushion covers. A day bed adorned with locally produced sheepskin throws and a generous supply of cushions creates a comfortable space for lounging and relaxing.
You will receive 2 bags of logs and a bag of kindling for free. Extra bags of logs are £7.50 per bag.
Over 90% of our guests do not require anymore logs than this to operate the hot tub, wood burner and fire pit.
Each hut has a small but fully-equipped kitchen including a solid oak worktop, a Shaw mini butler sink and a Neff 2-ring hob. Below is a cupboard allowing for storage as well as an integrated fridge. The wood burner provides a small oven in which to heat a lasagne, casserole or bake potatoes. A kadai fire bowl with BBQ grill outside provides further cooking opportunities. Locally sourced charcoal is available to buy.
We provide all your cutlery, crockery, bin bags and washing utensils. We also supply condiments and sauces. We provide a breakfast hamper sourced from our local farm shop when you arrive and can provide further meals to be delivered or to await your arrival if you wish. Delicious organic eggs are sourced from a small farm in our village.
Our huts are only a 10 minute pleasant walk through our fields to our local inn The Rising Sun in the pretty Quantock village of West Bagborough. Be sure to book for a fantastic evening meal or Sunday lunch.
