Tucked into the perimeter hedgerows and native trees of a hillside meadow, the huts are situated privately from each other and enjoy stunning southern views across Taunton ValeWatch the red deer at dawn, light the woodburner and curl up on the cosy bed to read a book. Enjoy spectacular sunsets over Exmoor National Park as you sip a glass of locally brewed ale or English fizz.
Use of the private wood fired hot tub is free for your entire stay. If you would like it pre heated so that its hot when you arrive we charge an extra £30. Only possible with arrivals before 7.00pm. The Hot Tub takes four hours to heat up. We can also heat the Hot tub for you during your stay so you can go for a walk and come back to a steaming hot soak. Subject to staff availability.
At the heart of each hut, a wood burning Devon forge baker stove provides warmth and a cosy environment in which to relax.
Each hut has a stylish “English” interior with Farrow & Ball painted woodwork, William Morris printed roman blinds and Sanderson plaid cushion covers. A day bed adorned with locally produced sheepskin throws and a generous supply of cushions creates a comfortable space for lounging and relaxing.
You will receive 2 bags of logs and a bag of kindling for free. Extra bags of logs are £7.50 per bag.
Over 90% of our guests do not require anymore logs than this to operate the hot tub, wood burner and fire pit.

You can’t ask for better views to wake up to
By Oscar on 02-Jan-2026We had a lovely stay in Matt’s Shepherd hut. Despite the blisteringly cold weather, the hut stayed so cosy and was the perfect getaway to start the year off. You can’t ask for better views to wake up too, with the hamper setting our weekend off perfectly.

By Zosia on 18-Apr-2025Beautiful beautiful view from the hut, very peaceful, so lovely in fact we decided to stay an extra night at the last minute. Very hot hot tub(!), nice shower, warm and cosy. Nice pub nearby but recommend booking in advance (although it was Easter weekend for us).
