Ideal for families or groups of friends, whether for a week or a short break. Our turnaround day is usually Friday, but just call us for availability. Our local gastro pub, the Rising Sun is less than 50 metres away. This fabulous Somerset property set in the Quantock Hills, with a panoramic view as far as Exmoor, will take your breath away. Superb quality throughout includes three luxurious double bedrooms with super-king beds that can also be made up as twins, three spacious sparkling wet-rooms and a really large open plan living area with the most stunning south facing full-width balcony; below this a secret garden with a gas barbeque and dining table and chairs. There is direct access through our fields to the Aisholt Common, the highest point on the Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whether you like walking, horse riding, mountain biking, taking photos or just here to relax, there is something for everyone! Keen mountain bikers come to Great Wood which is one of the best mountain bike areas in the UK. We have a secure lockup for mountain bikes, we can keep 6 locked away safely.

The Lodge has an open plan kitchen, which creates a good social hub. The dove grey kitchen is furnished with all modern appliances complimented by granite worktops. There is an electric fan oven/grill, a ceramic hob and a large built in microwave/grill dishwasher, freezer, fridge and a 12 bottle drinks fridge. Tea towels are provided. The Lodge is fitted with smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. There are fire extinguishers and a first aid kit.

In the large lounge area there is a Moroccan feel with beautiful goatskin lamps, wool throws, cushions, rugs, two large comfy leather sofas, and a fabulous wood burner. A full basket of logs are provided for your use. There is also a smart LED television and Bose Wireless Soundlink mini speaker.
Bi fold doors open onto the large south facing veranda area with truly stunning panoramic views. Why not enjoy a glass of wine whilst watching the sun set over Exmoor in the distance?

Absolutely Fantastic Stay and Covid Safe !

By MR D &MRS J JONES on 10-Oct-2020

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in. Wonderful welcome from the owner who made sure we felt Covid safe! Totally surpassed our expectations and will definitely return. We had a wonderful welcome from Jill. The property was absolutely wonderful and we felt entirely safe from Covid. Everything was completely clean and there was plenty of sanitizer, gloves etc. The house was warm so because of slightly wet weather we hunkered down and read and relaxed. All in all an absolutely fantastic stay. We will try and book again for next year as would love to enjoy the outside space. Thank you to Jill for making it so safe. Jane and David Jones (stay 30/9 to 6/10).
