Description

Graylands Cottage sleeps two to eight guests in five bedrooms and provides secluded self-catering in an old Forester's Cottage. Glorious views over the New Forest National Park restore the soul! Guests can immerse themselves in the natural beauty of this haven, visited by an abundance of wildlife including numerous feathered friends and deer.

Perfect for families who want to visit this popular holiday destination, Graylands Cottage welcomes dogs and also offers a ten percent discount for couples booking. Seventy percent of guests are repeat visitors to Graylands, due to its lovely homely atmosphere and beautiful location. It is rare to find somewhere in the Forest which has walks from the door, welcomes pets, and is family friendly.

For those who enjoy walking, the tracks and trails of the New Forest start straight from the cottage gate allowing you to explore the area by foot. Why not walk out for lunch or supper at one of the local pubs? The nearest is only half a mile away. Fishing, pony trekking and golf are also available locally. Cycling is also very popular on designated gravel tracks within the New Forest National Park.

The area has an abundance of attractions to entertain all ages. Just ten minutes drive (or a two mile walk) is Fordingbridge, offering a wide selection of places to shop and eat. On the way to the market town of Ringwood is the Hampshire Wildlife Trust and also a lake for water skiing. Visit the pretty villages and towns of Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst (the 'capital of the Forest' with a tourist information centre) and Beaulieu, the home to the National Car Museum to name just a few. Drive 15 mins to the Elizabethan Mansion Breamore House, with its Countryside Museum and delicious Cream Teas. Or explore slightly further afield and visit Salisbury with its majestic cathedral, world famous Stonehenge, Paulton's Park (the kids will love Peppa Pig World!), Bournemouth and Christchurch on the coast and Lymington, the gateway to the Isle of Wight (why not take the ferry for a day trip!).

Stay locally and enjoy picnics in the forest where children can build dams, play pooh sticks and have a good splash around. For stocking up on provisions there is a nearby shop within walking distance across the fields at Sandyballs, and also the wonderful Wood Green community shop a short drive away.

Alternatively, simply relax and soak up the incredible views over the valley and New Forest with nothing to disturb you apart from the sound of bird song.

We''ve had a wonderful stay! (Dec 2023)

By anonymous on 15-Dec-2023

It''s our third stay in the cottage, and once again we''ve had a wonderful stay! Highlights were seeing a deer with huge antlers in the garden at night (which subsequently jumped over the fence!), two black cats chasing each other on the flat roof above the extension, and seeing all the wildlife around the cottage. We hope to be back again! Thank you Ian, Tina, and Hannah - and Mandie! The XXX Family 8-15 Dec 2023

A lovely place to stay! (Oct 2023)

By *** Age 10 on 29-Oct-2023

It was my dad''s fried''s 50th birthday so the cottage was a lovely place to stay, play games and complete puzzles. We completed the ''pet shop puzzle'' (but there were 7 pieces missing!) THANK YOU! *** age 10

Lovely to see nature so close (Aug 2023)

By anonymous on 19-Aug-2023

We had a nice week at Graylands with deer popping into the garden 4 times to eat any fallen apples from the garden. They hop over the fence next to the vehicle gate and it is lovely to see nature so close.
