There are plenty of fantastic walks right from the doorstep including Wansfell Pike with fabulous views over Windermere towards Coniston and the Langdales, some of which are bridleways, so bring the mountain bikes!
For lovers of real ales and good food, The Mortal Man Inn is located across the road and a mere five-minute walk away is The Queens Head gastro-pub - both are family-friendly and both allow dogs!

From Troutbeck, visitors can take advantage of a variety of nearby activities and attractions. For those looking to explore the area's famous lakes, cruises depart from both Bowness (five miles away) and Ambleside (four miles away). Meanwhile, further afield lies Ullswater with its steamers (eight miles away) and Coniston Water with its Steam Yacht Gondola (ten miles away).
For those who enjoy a more active pursuit, there are plenty of options, such as kayaking, mountain biking, golfing and climbing.
