Overview
Description
The Overlook has been architect designed and has breathtaking sea views across the English Channel. There are two large double bedrooms, both with en-suite showers and doors opening onto a separate balcony facing south and looking out to sea. There is a further twin bedroom, and a family bathroom. The open plan living area is accessed down some internal steps and benefits form patio doors leading to a second large terrace with table and seating. The Overlook has been furnished to a high standard and benefits from ample off road parking. It is situated only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Ventnor, a Victorian seaside town with buildings full of character. In addition to the main shopping street where you will find a selection of small supermarkets to include a Co-op and Tesco Express, there are parks and gardens, museums and the Winter Gardens - an entertainment venue with a growing reputation for theatre, concerts, comedy and dance shows and of course the restaurant/bar.
There are a number of great restaurants in Ventnor including Cantina, The Ale & Oyster, and the Smoking Lobster to name a few. The famous Spyglass pub sits right on the sea, and there are some great tea and coffee shops and Lady Scarlett’s Tea Parlour (complete with 1940’s theming) are favourites. Or if you fancy a take-away to enjoy by the beach, the Ventnor Haven Fishery on The Esplanade sell fantastic fish & chips, locally caught and prepared to order.
Ventnor Botanic Garden lies in the remarkable microclimate at the heart of the famous 'Undercliff.' This unique garden is protected from the cold northerly winds by chalk downs. In addition to enjoying the lovely gardens, it also hosts events and exhibitions and there is a restaurant and Café on-site for refreshments; lunch or coffee and cake!
From The Esplanade you can take the level walk, along the sea wall to Bonchurch, or walk along the cliff path towards Steephill Cove, a beautiful sheltered bay only accessed by foot.

Photographs don't do it justice.
By Donna on 28-May-2025This accommodation is stunning. There is everything you need. Parking for 2 cars, which very useful because the area is very narrow & busy with cars. It's quite a walk from Ventnor, up hill but the views truly make up for it.
The Overlook June 2025
By Michael on 25-Jun-2025The lovely weather ensured that we had a good stay for our first visit to the Isle if Wight. Spacious and comfy property, but there is a tricky turn into the property's road from the main road. View from the property over Ventnor is fabulous; needs to be seen to appreciate this comment. Well equipped kitchen, however a tray to carry drinks onto the balcony would be a useful addition.
Brilliant place, couldn't be better

Fabulous views
By Anne Saunders on 12-Oct-2025Everything was great but particularly the views which were wonderful to wake up to. Everything needed was supplied and washing machine/dryer was a bonus to save washing when you got home. Loved it so much we are going back next year.
