Description
Harriet is ideal for two people - it is a bright and airy recently renovated traditional stone-built gîte in a small hamlet. There is a living/dining room, kitchenette, shower room and one bedroom which can be set up as a large double bed or two single beds.Perfect location - a safe private gîte in a quiet rural setting, with a bustling market town close by, that can easily be driven to if you don't fancy flying. The town is home to a lively weekly market and a range of shops and restaurants. Les Deux Lièvres overlooks the beautiful Aveyron Valley; the views from our pool terrace are breathtaking.
Gîtes Les Deux Lièvres combines the ancient charm and character of a 200 year old property with the requirements for modern living. It has thick stone walls with a bright new bathroom and kitchen. It stands in private grounds at the far end of a hamlet with no through traffic and has a large 10m x 5m swimming pool (with Roman steps, underwater lighting and a beautiful terrace) shared with the owners and one other gîte. Les Deux Lièvres has very high speed fibre with WiFi coverage inside, washing machine, microwave, hob, fridge etc. Come and listen to the bees and the birds - it's so tranquil! Our guests can enjoy beautiful views, peace, and tranquility whilst being close to a range of historical sites and sports facilities, e.g., hiking, cycling, and climbing.
The property is fully serviced with bedmaking, laundry, linen and towels between lets (and weekly for longer lets) and pool maintenance every day.
We can set up for either a large double bed or two singles.
We don't let for events or parties.

Things to do whilst you’re here.
The gîtes at Gîtes Les Deux Lièvres are ideal for those looking for peace and quiet in a stunning area of south west France.
Peyremorte is a tiny hamlet situated at the end of a rural lane in the Aveyron department in the Occitanie region of south-west France. Approximately 9km (by road) from Villefranche-de-Rouergue, an ancient Bastide town classified as one of the “Grand Site d'Occitanie” dating from the 15th century. The town is at the confluence of the rivers Aveyron and Alzou and has a good selection of shops and restaurants where you can buy your groceries or go out to eat. There is also a lively weekly market.
There are footpaths and quiet roads suitable for walking, cycling and mountain biking.
Other nearby famous bastide/medieval towns include Najac, Cordes sur Ciel, St Antonin Noble Val, St Cirque Lapopie, Belcastel and Sauveterre de Rouergue. The medieval cities of Rodez, Albi and Cahors are all within easy driving distance, as are the magnificent Tarn gorges, the beautiful Lot river and the stunning Viaduc de Millau.
We are an ideal base from which to explore the Aveyron, Lot, Tarn and Tarn et Garonne departments with their rich history, fabulous scenery and many sporting and leisure activities.
Rock climbing at Bor et Bar (20 minutes) and St Antonin Noble Val (1 hr) and others.
Canoeing/Kayaking at Najac (20 minutes) and St Antonin Noble Val. In the summer months there’s river swimming, a small beach and inflatables on the Viaur at Laguépie (30 min)
You can also hire bikes at one of the several cycle shops in town.
Musee Soulages is in Rodez (1 hr) and the Musee Toulouse Lautrec is in Albi (1 hr) along with plenty of other historical sites in town and nearby.
There are many dolmens on the limestone causse (to the north in the Parc naturel régional et Géoparc mondial Unesco des Causses du Quercy) and also some stunning caves to visit at Pech Merle (1 hr), Grottes de Foissac (45 min) and Gouffre de Padirac (1 hr 30)
The swimming pool is open from spring to autumn.
We look forward to welcoming you to Gîtes Les Deux Lièvres, a special holiday location for all to enjoy.
