Another Fantastic Holiday

By Jeremy Hay on 18-Jul-2025

Once again we were welcomed to this lovely house where we have spent our best holidays ever, spending many hours at the beautifully kept pool. There is so much for the children to enjoy and so many quiet and peaceful areas to relax in. The house is spotless, light and airy and very well kept. There are so many interesting places to visit in the surrounding area but we are always happy to return to La Borie Grande. Already looking forward to next year and once again meeting Tracy, the very friendly and obliging host.

Beautiful gite for a family holiday

By Sue Lewis on 23-Jul-2025

La Borie Grande gite was a beautiful peaceful hilltop retreat for a family holiday. The owner Tracy, was so helpful throughout booking and during our stay. We were warmly welcomed and she was available to help with any queries during our stay. The lovely gite is very spacious with everything a family needs. The bathrooms on both levels were handy and a lovely spacious kitchen well equipped with cooking facilities. The view is beautiful and the grounds have various seating areas to enjoy sunshine, sunsets, swing seats, and shade. The children loved the facilities, especially the trampoline and pool. The lovely heated pool area was ideal for sun and shade and ideal for children as in its own little garden area.

Peaceful family holiday

Wonderful stay at La Borie Grande. Pool big hit with everyone. Visited some beautiful towns/villages nearby and made good use of the bbq area. Three generations staying and plenty of space for us all.

Fabulous!

By Janie Palk on 23-Jul-2022

What a beautiful house and grounds! Tracy was so easy to deal with - great communication and super flexible over our ever changing plans due to Covid. The house is spacious and decorated beautifully. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need, but due to the gorgeous weather we spent most of our time outside, either by the pool or resting in the shade in various different seating areas around the garden. A wonderful view across the valley too - it all felt very private and secure. We hadn't visited this part of France before so were blown away by the beautiful countryside and endless picturesque villages. It's a long drive to the nearest supermarket, which in hindsight we wish we hadn't done on the Sunday morning, as it was expensive and so, so busy. There are two little supermarkets in Villefranche which had everything we could need. Plus it was impossible not to want to eat out (esp lazy lunches) while we were out and about exploring. We do love exploring different places and it's rare for us to want to return somewhere, but we feel as though we only scratched the surface of this stunning region and La Borie Grande would take some beating! So, we very much hope to return (if Tracy will have us!). We were a family of 6 (2 teenage daughters + older daughter and boyfriend). Loads of space for all of us - the bedroom layout would really suit two couples with kids too. Highly recommend!

Perfect place for family or group

By Rob on 30-Jul-2022

Very well equipped, comfortable beds, lots of space, games indoors and out, three spaces to eat in sun or shade outside - this is a lovely house In lesser known part of Dordogne, but only 50 minutes from canoeing on the river. Walk to Villefranche du Perigord took 20 minutes with kids. Quick response from Tracy to any questions. Our 3 generation, 9 person family thought it was great,

Amazing Dordogne Gite

By Andrew Hunter on 02-Jul-2022

We had an amazing week at La Boire Grande, The house and grounds were beautifull with so many different areas to sit and admire the view. The private pool was a great size with plenty of loungers and shade. The village is only a short walk and is really quaint with great facilities including a lovely evening food market and a great baker’s. Tracy was a great host, on hand to help with tips on things to do locally including a day of canoeing on the river which was brilliant fun. We would highly recommend this lovely Gite in a superb location and we hope to be back soon.
