Overview
Description
Our lovely holiday house Pendeen offers plenty of space for a family to relax in, a pretty enclosed garden and provides parking for two cars. The lively town of Wadebridge is the perfect location from which to explore the stunning and dramatic North Cornwall coastline and within a short drive you have a choice of seven or eight sandy beaches, miles of rugged coastal footpath or the evocative Bodmin Moor. The popular destinations of Newquay, Padstow, Rock and Port Isaac (home to Doc Martin) are easily reached by car, public transport or even bicycle! Wadebridge offers a wide selection of independent shops, boutiques, restaurants, public houses and a cinema. A children’s park is within easy walking distance. The town is at the heart of the famous Camel Cycle Trail which links, via wonderful, traffic-free scenery, Bodmin Moor to the coast at Padstow. Relax in our pretty and secluded garden after a day on the beach or curl up in our cosy lounge after a bracing coastal walk. Short breaks are available. We are sorry, but because we have pet fur allergies in our family, we cannot accept dogs.
On the ground floor Pendeen has a well-equipped family kitchen and separate dining room, a lounge with television, DVD and WiFi. There are two ground floor twin rooms and a ground floor bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs there is a double room with en-suite shower room. Outside we have paved parking for two cars and a sheltered garden with table, chairs and barbeque.
When we first started visiting Cornwall we visited Daymer Bay, the perfect place for holidays with little children – lovely sand, shallow sea, a stream for damming and plenty of rock pools at low tide. But as our family grew older we needed a base with more choices and Pendeen Cottage provided the perfect place. From Wadebridge we discovered it was a quick drive to Harlyn and Watergate for surfing, we could launch our kayak and paddle up or down stream and we could use the beautiful Camel Cycle Trail to explore Cornwall’s lovely inland scenery. As we live in a village at home, staying in a small town has also proved a novelty especially as there are independent shops offering a variety of local produce and plenty of pretty things to look at – and even a cinema within walking distance for those days with less than perfect weather!
Wadebridge is only a 30 minute car journey from Fowey and Newquay, it takes about 45 minutes to drive to Truro and about an hour to St Ives or Falmouth. For those that don’t want to drive buses leave in all directions from the main street. Our garden is private, secure and sheltered - there’s nothing better than taking your breakfast outside or eating a cream tea in the garden after a hard day on the beach. The house itself is big enough to accommodate a family but not so large that a couple is lost in it – we hope that you enjoy staying there as much as we do.

Leave ReviewWhat a Great Holiday Home
By Emma on 26-Jul-2025Pendeen is a wonderful spacious and spotlessly clean bungalow with plenty of room for everyone. Lovely large rooms, great kitchen with lots of cupboards and every utensil you could possibly need. Fantastic shower upstairs and all bedrooms have comfortable beds. The garden is nice and private with seating area. The bungalow has a lovely comfortable homely feel and we would definitely stay here again.
Pendeen is a first class property.
By Stephen on 30-Mar-2024Great accommodation and presented to a high level of cleanliness, with all modern facilities . I found the property to be very comfortable and the heating system worked perfectly. This was March and cold outside at times. The property is situated just outside the center of Wadebridge and is only a ten minute walk from “Pendeen.” It is ideally situated for exploring the Camel Trail, and the beautiful beaches along the North Coast of Cornwall from Newquay to Bude. The beautiful South West Coast Path is also close at hand. Pendeen is a very comfortable family home, on a quiet residential road close to the center of Wadebridge. I would highly recommend the property to anyone looking to explore the Camel Trail or holiday on the beautiful beaches of North Cornwall, walk on the Coast Path or explore Bodmin Moor just a few miles inland.
We were in Pendeen for the first 2 weeks of June.
By Teresa on 30-Jun-2024We loved it! Such a convenient layout, our son went upstairs while husband and I used the twin room downstairs. Clean, tidy and extremely well equipped. Kitchen was great, we do cook simple meals most nights, eating out a couple of times. A lovely lady (Fay?) came during the middle weekend and gave us fresh bedding, we didn’t mind changing the sheets ourselves. Lovely garden, just lovely! Garden furniture rather tired so we used our beach chairs. Pendeen is a great place to stay, with a homely feel to it. I expect to be booking again.
Another great stay at Pendeen.

We loved our stay at Pendeen
By Sara on 24-Oct-2023It is a really well equipped house, with everything you need for cooking at home etc, comfy beds, and a dining room which I used to work in , with excellent WiFi.The house is beautifully clean and being able to have some heating on for the chillier evenings was a bonus! A short walk into town was great, and we can recommend The Stepping Stone restaurant particularly. We hope to come back in the future.
