Lovely wee cottage

By Denise Heddle on 01-Aug-2022

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in August at Wood Cottage. Private gated area with parking right outside entrance. Modern and clean with everything you could possibly need. Fantastic welcome package which was really appreciated. Great bars/restaurants within ten minutes' walk. Beamish open air museum just 7 mile away. Is well in worth a day out. I would definitely stay again if visiting the area. Thanks again Elizabeth and Ron.

Amazing and peaceful

By Kal-El Christie on 08-Aug-2022

We had the privilege of staying in Wood cottage for 4 nights and it’s just perfect. We have used most of the run of the mill holiday cottage providers but I had never heard of simplyowners until I managed to stumble upon their website. I came across this beautiful cottage that Elizabeth and Ron were letting out and I knew we had to stay there. The pictures are great but the reality is far superior. Set in some peaceful grounds of the listed barn house with an abundance of trees and time seems to stand still there. We had managed to pick the hottest week in August and we were limited as to where we could go because of our Dog and the heat but as the cottage and grounds were so much cooler it was not a negative point. The front room is spacious and leads to the very well appointed kitchen with everything that you could need. The welcome pack was as good as other reviews state. The stairs lead to a very comfy bed and modern bathroom with an exemplary shower. We recommend this cottage to anyone that wants to get away from it all or use this as a base to explore the area with walk in abundance. More highly recommended is the hosts, 2 hard working people who still find time to chat and take care of the guests. It’s for this reason that we would book again as the cottage is only part of the deal and the bigger part is the human touch in the cottage and interaction with these best of hosts.

A beautiful cottage of an extremely high standard equipped with everything you need in beautiful surroundings, probably one of the best we have stayed in. A real home from home perfectly placed for visiting all the sights. The hospitality from the hosts was outstanding. Highly recommended.
