There is an aea award winning restaurant at the Donkey Sanctuary, and Oak Mead Cafe is about a mile away along pleasant country lanes.

Beside the cafe is Oak Mead Golf - a 9 hole short course, par 3 and 748 yards long. Suitable for all the family. All holes have a floral name.


Cornerstone is a 10-minute drive from the regency town of Sidmouth with its stunning coastal views.

Sidmouth facilities include theatre, cinema, indoor swimming pool, public gardens, beaches, Jacobs Ladder, public tennis courts (grass and hard), putting green, museums, and the Norman Lockyer Observatory on Salcombe Hill. The high street has big-brand stores, a department store, independent shops, and numerous cafes, restaurants and bars. There are regular buses to Honiton, Seaton and Exeter (the Seaton to Sidmouth/Exeter bus passes within about half a mile of Cornerstone). Details of facilities are available from the Tourist Information Office next to the swimming pool, or online, and Cornerstone has a large collection of information leaflets.

A little further afield is Beer (with its Quarry Caves which provided stone for 24 cathedrals, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and many other historic buildings) and Seaton. The Seaton Tramway runs along a three-mile route through East Devon's glorious Axe Valley, between the coastal resort of Seaton and the ancient market town of Colyton.

Exeter, Exmouth, Lyme Regis are all within a 30 minute drive.

Torbay, Bridport, Dartmoor can be reached in around 45 minutes.
