Mariner's View cottage is situated at the southern-most point of Weymouth, just before the causeway that leads to Portland. The Fleet nature reserve (good bird-watching) and Chesil Beach are just across the road. From the cottage windows, there are wonderful views of the sea, yachts and windsurfers, all backed by the distinctive outline of Portland. Smallmouth Bay, with rocks and a little sandy beach and the coast line of Portland Harbour are 3 minutes walk away. The South West Coast path and Rodwell Trail (one of Julia Bradbury's Railway Walks) pass close to the front door. The National Sailing Academy in Portland Harbour (which hosted the 2012 Sailing Olympics) can be seen from the cottage windows.

Lovely cottage with beautiful views

By Alice on 18-Apr-2021

A lovely cottage with the most beautiful views of Portland, the harbour and Chesil Beach. Waking up to those sights literally from your window is such a luxury. The cottage had everything and more that we could think of and it was always warm and very cosy. It’s situated in a great location, easy access to Portland and into Weymouth. We walked along the Rodwell Trail into the town a couple of times and enjoyed seeing more lovely views of the West Dorset coast. Absolutely perfect cottage and location for our little family and we enjoyed every minute.

Perfect getaway home for couples or families.

By Joel on 24-Nov-2020

Perfect getaway home in Dorset. I stayed here with my girlfriend but there’s plenty of space for a whole family. Very cosy and homely, with great views from the first floor. Everything was very clean and the host was very attentive and helpful, with lots of knowledge of the local area. It’s a great location, very close to Weymouth town centre and Portland bill. Loads of nice walks all around. We loved it so much we asked to extend a week.

Seaside freedom from coronavirus

By Matthias Hambidge on 20-Sep-2020

20th Sep 2020 Matthias Hambidge Exceeded Expectations Comment: Being able to enjoy a COVID secure stay so we didn’t have to worry like we would have done if staying in a hotel where there are other people.
