Description
Stay in the 300-year-old cottage, "4 Clarks Yard", which is complete with winding staircases and beams, offering accommodation over three floors.The main bedroom has a double bed with a twin bedroom on the top floor. The bathroom has a large shower with a luxurious rainfall style head and a separate handset that lets you direct the flow of water with ease. The ground floor room combines a newly-modernised kitchen with breakfast bar and lounge accommodation.
Outside is a secluded south facing garden with a table and chairs, only yards from the hustle and bustle of cobbled Church Street. PLEASE NOTE : As this property features very steep and narrow winding staircases (part of its historic appeal), it may not be suitable for children under 8 years of age or persons with limited mobility.
One well-behaved dog is accepted, for a modest fee.

Lovely quaint cottage
By Claire on 28-Oct-2024We loved our stay in Whitby in this fisherman’s cottage. 2 adults, 1 teenager (16yrs) and 1 dog spent 3 comfortable nights here. It had a lovely charm and character, fitting with its history. The cottage was very clean tidy and well equipped with all the essentials, from bedding, towels, kitchen equipment Inc washing up liquid/tea towels, plus welcome treats eg tea, coffee, bottle of wine, biscuits. Perfectly placed in Whitby to access to all attractions but nicely tucked away and very quiet for a peaceful nights sleep. Disappointed we weren’t staying longer. Also communication with the owners was excellent. David responded very quickly to my initial enquiry and emailed all the information we needed well in advanced of our stay. Thank you
Location excellent, cottage cosy, beds very comfy

We missed last New Year’s Eve due to Covid and we were so happy to be back. Wonderful accommodation in a great holiday resort.
Cottage has a welcoming traditional feel

The property is centrally located in the heart of old Whitby, with easier access to drop off luggage than you might expect. The cottage itself has a welcoming traditional feel, is stylish, well-equipped, comfortable and WARM (an important consideration at the beginning of this December). We enjoyed exceptionally clear and timely communications from the owners, David and Alison, and only wished we could have stayed longer.
Lovely cottage - rustic charm and modern amenities
By David B. on 20-Jun-2021Stayed here for 2 weeks. Lovely cottage with mixture of rustic charm and modern amenities. Well equipped with everything you would need. Outside area to sit out is a big bonus with the lovely sunny weather of June. Location is perfect. Quiet old street but down short, sheltered alleyway straight on to the hustle and bustle of everything you could want in Whitby - pubs, restaurants, shops and cafes on the doorstep and then short walk to all the charm of this old seaside town. Beautiful evening sunsets over the harbour. David and Alison couldn''t be more helpful. Would recommend this property to anyone and look forward to staying again.
Cottage was the perfect size and bedrooms very generous

Bathroom was very quirky with a loads of drawers and cupboards everywhere and most importantly best rain shower ever! Such a central spot in town and the sunny garden was also well used.
