This was our 4th stay in a year at Thimble Cottages. It''''s a great base for the lovely walks around Youlgrave. Booking and contact with the owner is so easy and efficient. The price is very reasonable. A wonderful place to recharge the batteries. We love The George. A great homely pub. We discovered Stanton Moor this time. A short drive through Birchover to the car park and a glorious circular walk taking in Robin Hood''s Stride.
A very clean cottage. We were grateful for the welcome pack, the chocolates were a treat. The bed was so comfortable. Rachel was quick at responding to a query we had. Heights of Abraham is worth visiting. It is expensive but there’s lots to do when you get to the top. You could spend 4 hours there. Stepping stones at Dovedale is a nice place to visit and if you are a keen Walker you could walk to the top of Thorpe Cloud. It is about a thousand feet high. The Bulls Head is good pub food and we had fish and chips at The George.
Great communication from Rachel, There are great walks right out of the village, we recommend the Bulls head Hotel opposite for a nice atmosphere and great vegetarian food
