Overview
Description
Three minutes walk from the centre of the delightful 19th Century spa village of Saint Gervais les Bains is this 30 year old detached chalet which has been fully renovated to provide a contemporary but comfortable home. The chalet which uses much traditional wood to provide the Alpine ‘feel’ also benefits from modern communication systems such as Wireless Broadband and modern audio visual entertainment throughout. The satellite television provides access to the usual UK satellite channels. Swimming pool in summer and clear mountain air combine to provide the tonic you need. 50 minutes from Geneva Airport, 7 minutes from ski lifts to Megeve-Saint Gervais ski domain, 15 minutes from Chamonix. 1 minute walk from Tramway du Mont Blanc providing direct access to Les Houches, Mont Blanc mountaineering, Tour du Mont Blanc and paragliding take off sites.
Notes on accommodation: The chalet has underfloor heating which is very effective. Because the chalet is laid out over four floors and has balconies and a swimming pool it is best suited to adults and older children. Our young nephews and nieces have had a super time here summer and winter but the under 5's obviously required more supervision from adults. Outside, Summer: The outside living space is fantastic. A patio with decking surrounds the pool and has fabulous views of the Aravis chain of mountains on the other side of the valley. Barbeque'ing is very special and at night the patio is lit with outdoor lighting. The pool is about 30 feet long and is heated in Summer to in excess of 26 degrees Celsius. There are outdoor tables, chairs and sun loungers. There is parking for up to three cars to the side of the drive. Utility Room: In the garage: includes sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer. Space for clothes drying and hanging. Ski and boot storage in ample garage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fully laundered cotton bedlinen and towels are included in the price. Reasonable chalet cleaning at the end of your stay is also included. Any other arrangements can be discussed on an individual basis. Other: Second living room in basement lends itself to evening and night-time use and has a high quality audio visual system. Contemporary and 'moody' it is a great place to unwind after the day. Sofas, chairs and wine fridge. Sauna comfortable for four.

Located in the French northern Alps and situated at the feet of Mont Blanc, St Gervais has stunning scenery and a wide variety of things to do.
Saint Gervais is a beautiful Savoyard village with a friendly atmosphere. It is home to Europe's highest mountain, Mont Blanc and has been a popular holiday destination for over a hundred years. There are a number of shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants and every Thursday morning there is a market and the village's main square is a hive of activity.
The towns of Megeve and Chamonix are just a 20 minute drive away should you wish to explore a little further.
St Gervais has a huge number of activities on offer. It is popular with walkers and cyclists in the summer - it is one of the starting points for the Tour du Mont Blanc. In winter Saint Gervais has a large ski area (over 440 km) which links to nearby Megeve. The Mont Blanc Tramway can be taken from Saint Gervais to the Bellevue plateau (1800m) or the Prarion giving skiers access to the Les Houches ski area in winter. Or it can be taken by walkers or those just wishing to see the wonderful panorama in winter or summer. For those who would like to relax a little St Gervais's famous thermal parc offers complementary therapies and massage.
The village also has a brand new indoor/outdoor pool complex with a 25m pool, a play pool, a paddling pool, an outdoor pool, a sauna and hammam. Also in the village is an olympic sized ice rink, clay tennis courts (with international tennis tournament in June) and
a great mini-golf course. Mountain bikes are easy to hire in the town too.
In summer the summer activity pass costs around 100 euros for a family of 4 or 5 for a week and gives access to the swimming pool, mini-golf, cable cars and activities at the leisure park in nearby Les Contamines

Perfect ski location - best of both worlds for skiers and non-skiers alike
By Angela on 14-Feb-2026A perfect location with the free ski bus literally outside the gate, and a few minutes stroll into beautiful St Gervais for drinks, food, galleries and a spot of shopping. If that's not enough, both the lift down to the thermal baths and the Mont Blanc tramway are a 5 minute walk away. We couldn't believe how lucky we were to find Chalet Wilkes. The kitchen is the best provisioned I've experienced, which made it easy to cook together and eat around the family table. Comfy beds and lovely towels in cosy bedrooms added to our stay as a family of three generations- along with the sauna and cinema room. We stayed for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave - the view out was beautiful and we can imagine it would be equally lovely in the summer, especially with the pool. If you're heading for St Gervais, don't hesitate!
The best ski chalet in the region
By Isobel on 31-Jan-2026We stayed here as 8 adults for a week of skiing and had one of our best ski holidays ever. The chalet has a bedroom and a bathroom on each of the 4 floors and has fantastic facilities that make it easy for everyone to come and go in comfort. The kitchen is really well equipped with plenty of everything you could possibly need so you can easily cook meals and there are plenty of spare mugs, plates and cutlery. There is a heated garage so all outdoor clothing can dry overnight and the sauna helps to ease aching muscles. We didn’t even have time to use the downstairs lounge but if the weather had been bad, we would have spent more time indoors in extreme comfort. It’s easy to move around the resort, either with skis or just going into town for bars, restaurants or shopping. The skiing is extensive, with access to St Gervais and Megeve from the main gondola, accessible by a bus directly outside the chalet. A different bus, also close by, takes you to the higher ski area of Les Contamines.
Wonderful chalet for skiing
By Megan W on 03-Jan-2026We all enjoyed our week at the chalet, the location is great for skiing with the bus stop right outside and only a 5 minute walk into town. Everything was perfect for us from the comfortable beds to the stunning view, the well equipped kitchen, plenty of hanging space for ski gear, and the sauna to relax in. St Gervais is a lovely town and the Thursday market has some great fresh produce. Melanie was quick to respond to messages and friendly and helpful throughout.

Skiing / Christmas holiday
By Tony William Porter on 20-Dec-2025A beautiful well equipped chalet, with stunning views across the valley. Excellent location, just 5 minutes walk into the center of the village. and for skiers the free ski bus stops just outside of the chalet. The kitchen was especially well equipped with all modern utensils and the bedrooms were nicely furnished with comfortable beds. The Sonos sound system is a modern touch to this traditional chalet., This chalet gives you all you need (and more) to be able to explore and enjoy this beautiful part of the world. . Thanks to Melanie and Chris for all the help and information they gave us. 10/10.
