Getting there:
There are regular buses from Geneva airport which take around 4 hours. Please look on-line for the timetable. NB: Be careful to see when the buses leave, as the timetable varies according to the day of the week. There is a small line at the top of the timetable with the days of the week that buses are operational – not very obvious! Alternatively taxis are around €450 (prices vary according to the number of passengers) and take about 3 hours to reach Val d’Isere.
Flights are also to Lyon, Grenoble and Chambery.
Train to Bourg St Maurice.
Activities in the resort include husky sledding, ice driving, ice skating, paragliding (paragliding) snow-mobiling, snowshoe walking (Raquette a neige) with 24 km of marked paths for winter walking trails.
The leisure centre has a swimming pool (250 m²), leisure pool (430 m²), climbing area, multi-activity sports hall, fitness suite, gym, 2 squash courts and a wellness zone (sauna, spa, cold baths, hydro-massage, etc). You gain 1 free pool entry with a 2-15 day lift pass.
Perhaps you would prefer to try pilates or yoga or maybe a game of chess or bridge, or simply go to the cinema showing different films every night and also on very bad weather days.
One evening why not try dinner in an igloo at the top of the mountain. Ascent is by helicopter or skidoo, dinner in the igloo, followed by a torchlight descent. Alternatively on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5.30pm discover the recreational fun zone at the foot of the slopes and have an introduction to Snake Gliss and Airboard. Also there is floodlit giant slalom and cross country ski racing by night.
Mondays are market day: local Savoie food produce, clothes, sweets and gifts.
On Thursday nights the main high street of Val d’Isere is closed to become a pedestrian zone where you will find live music, ice and snow sculpting and parades.
There are an abundance of bars, restaurants and nightclubs to sample with a huge variety of cuisine, and of course many shops to tempt you with either clothes, interiors for the home or delicious food.
If you have never been to Val d’Isere it is definitely a place you should visit.

Leave ReviewGreat Apartment
By Pat on 25-Jan-2025We were 5 adults who used the apartment for a week in January. It is very well situated. Ski hire shops within a few minutes walk; excellent little Spa also a few minutes away and a few minutes walk to the stop where the very reliable shuttles take you into the main resort. It is virtually ski in and ski out. A short slide down to the lift in the morning and a little turn to the left to get off the main slope to the back door where the ski lockers are located in the afternoon. Having a heated boot rack in the apartment was a real bonus. The beds are super comfortable. Yes, the upstairs rooms are on the small side because of the sloping roof but we were made aware of that before hand. The kitchen is the real bonus. We tend to self cater and it is, by far, the best equipped kitchen we have used in 20+ years of ski rentals. Having a well-stocked spice and herb rack, along with other basics like oil, vinegar, sugar, tea meant that we did not have to buy and then waste essentials. And plenty of utensils, pans and dishes to have a full roast one evening. No other apartment used the lift to our floor which meant we could leave shoes outside on the shoe rack. We never heard the neighbours. There was no sense at all that we were in a rather large apartment block. And the view is spectacular - especially after the snow. We had loads of fresh snow through the week which made the setting rather magical. Communication with the owner was clear and very fast. Any questions we had in advance and while in resort were answered quickly. Superb service!
5* apartment
By Sarah on 28-Dec-2024WOW what a find! This is truly a perfect ski in/ski out apartment in La Daille situated only 50 metres from La Daille cable car. A top floor split level apartment, with stunning views over Val D'Isere village and valley. The apartment itself is very well appointed and equipped and beautifully maintained. Lovely bedlinen/duvets and finishing touches such as L'Occitane products in the bathrooms. The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with more kitchen appliances than most people have in their own homes! We were a family of 5 (three teenagers) and they were very happy with the TV entertainment on offer. The owner and onsite caretaker are delightful and are incredibly helpful and accommodating. We will be back!
A lovely flat in a good location
By William L. on 20-Jan-2020We had a great week in this well appointed apartment. It has lovely views across the ski area and along the valley to Val d'Isere. The La Daille gondala is a short ski away, and other lifts are available though the extremely efficient Val d'Isere bus system. Our adult family of 5 found the flat comfortable and uncrowded, the only reservation one might have with 6 people is that the third bedroom is on the small side with a low ceiling: we understand this may be addressed in the future. The owner and her agent in Val d'Isere are very helpful and responded quickly to any question.
