Margaret February 20209

My husband and I just returned from an epic stay at a beautiful home in Tuscany. I first rented from the owners in 2008 on Lake Como and was delighted to learn that they had purchased a home for rent in Tuscany. Their Tuscan home was spacious and as well appointed as their Como home. The living room is warm and comfortable, much larger than depicted in the pictures, and we enjoyed our evenings in front of the fireplace. The living room also has huge patio doors to let in the light from the garden and was perfect to relax and enjoy the Tuscan countryside. The kitchen is well stocked with lots of condiments and plates, pots and pans to really cook a nice Italian feast. The bed was nice and comfy with plenty of blankets and pillows, hence we returned from vacation also well rested. We were in Tuscany to attend the Benvenuto Brunello festival in Montalcino. The home was a short drive to the festival and in a very convenient location to the neighboring vineyards that we visited. The 5 star golf hotel, Castiglione Del Bosco, is close to the home and was perfect for my husband for a round of golf, and myself for a spa treatment. The Casale Hotel was great to walk to in the evening to enjoy dinner and a bottle of wine from their vineyard. The February temps were warmer than we expected, and we didn’t’ even require a coat given the warmth of the afternoon sun. The picture perfect postcard village of Buonconvento is a real hidden gem and is unspoiled from mass tourism, with all amenities we needed for our stay - restaurants, bars, cafe bars and a large supermarket. However we preferred to shop at the well-stocked local fruit and veg store, deli and butchers. It was really like stepping back in time and helped recharged our batteries from our busy life. We visited Pienza to purchase the famous pecorino cheese and enjoy the sunset during aperitivo . Radda in Chianti was our favorite village and we loved Bagno Vignoni for the spa which was boiling hot to dip our feet into even in late February! We also enjoyed Siena, a medieval city with the most beautiful piazza imaginable. We will definitely be back and have recommended the home to our friends. You will not be disappointed with a stay at this amazing Tuscan home.

We thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful home. The most authentic experience

By Susan on 21-Sep-2019

We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful home. I know you put a lot of effort into sharing nuggets with your guests that will help them have the most authentic experience - I can't tell you how much we appreciate that! Your thoughtfulness and help were unlike anything we've seen in renting
(the wine, the day trip suggestions, the restaurant arrangements, the bocce balls, and on and on…). We had wonderful day trips to Orvieto, Sienna, Florence, biking in Chianti, etc., We visited Casale di Bibbiano on our last day, but only wish we had done that earlier in the week so that we could have taken a cooking class there!

The home is located in an idyllic situation.

By Gemma, Domaso on 07-Sep-2019

As soon as we walked into the home were were very impressed with the spacious living area which opens into the garden and the charming typical Tuscan furnishings and furnishings. The home is located in an idyllic situation for people looking to relax in complete peace surrounded by beautiful trees. Yet in just few minutes driving we could easily reach the pretty village of Buonconvento which has an excellent selection of restaurant and wine bars with little shops, market etc like a village that time had forget but was all the better for it.
A special thanks to Julie and Barrie.

Wonderful villa, wonderful family holiday.

By Johanna on 20-Jul-2019

We spent a wonderful family holiday in a charming villa Cortile del Pozzo surrounded by beautiful Tuscany. The attentiveness and helpfulness of our host couple Barrie and Julie even before our arrival, and the care of our hostess Emma on the spot, warmed our minds and completed the success of our holiday perfectly! I can happily recommend this to anyone who needs a quiet and comfortable place to spend their holiday :-)

Tuscan Paradise!

By David V. on 25-Feb-2019

We stayed here recently for a Valentine Day treat for my wife. The villa is beautiful. Even in late February we will able to sit in the courtyard and enjoy lunch with the amazing view of the rolling hills and in the afternoon in the garden under the pergola. The villa is well appointed with an excellent kitchen and pantry and the owner had left us a lovely bottle of tuscan wine from Montalcino to enjoy on arrival. The estate is so quiet and tranquil, we hope to return in the summer to take advantage of the pool! A special mention of Barrie and Julie who could not be more accommodating arranging a trips to a local vinyard and a some excellent day trip suggestions including Siena where we ate at Le Logge, which is the best dining experience we have had the pleasure to enjoy in all our years of travel to Italy plus the beauiful spa village close to Buonconvento, Bagno Vignoni where we warmed our feet in the roman spring! The village of Buonconvento is a jewel! The people were so welcoming and there really was everything you need for a countryside escape that we didnt need to venture further afield for supplies. The village had a lovely buzz to it and was not in any way touristy like some of the other more well known villages which whilst attractive like Buonconvento, seemed to be more set up for tourists. At night we walked to the local hotel for dinner and drinks on the terrace or a little bit further up the hill to the TNT pub which serves excellent pasta and pizza. I would definitely recommend the home to friends and are sure to return.

A lovely, easy-going place to stay.

By Lois. Sawday's Inspector on 18-Jan-2019

A lovely, easy-going place to stay with its big lofty rooms, especially the living area, and a large, well-equipped kitchen. Also makes a great base for exploring this stunning region.
