Description
Our apartment, Casa Vista Bonita, is located on the 4 star Domus Iberica complex, in the picturesque village of Burgau on the edge of the Costa Vincentina National Park.This first floor, luxury apartment is light and airy. It is air conditioned and fully furnished. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, hob, oven, microwave, and fridge freezer.
There is free WiFi, a TV with several British channels, a DVD player and a music centre with CD, Bluetooth and USB connections.
The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a walk in shower.. The main bathroom is directly opposite the second bedroom. Bed linen and towels (including beach towels) are provided and a weekly clean. The double wardrobes, in each bedroom, contain a 3 drawer unit and plenty of clothes hangers so there is ample clothes storage space.
The balcony, which runs along the length of the apartment, features a built in BBQ and an awning to provide shade. In addition, there is a huge, private roof terrace, with stunning sea views, perfect for catching some sun and general alfresco living.
Directly opposite the apartment is Nova beach Club which has a restaurant, a swimming pool, children’s pool and a play area. We pay an annual membership which allows all of our guests use of the pool.
Burgau is an easy 70 minute drive from Faro airport on the A22 toll road, which is rarely busy. Car hire is available, at the airport, as well as taxis and transfers.
Our guests are met on arrival by our property managers who speak excellent English and are always available if needed.

BURGAU
The Domus Iberica complex is situated on the edge of Burgau; a quaint little village, with cobbled streets, 10 minutes drive west of Lagos. It sits on the edge of the national park and is still a working fishing village.
The Blue Flag beach is only a 5 minute walk away and is beautifully clean with golden sands and lifeguard. There is a great beach bar/restaurant where you can sit and watch the world go by and the waves roll in.
In the village there are two ATM’s, a bakery, 2 small supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.
Burgau is a great base for walking. The coastal paths can be accessed directly from the apartment and it is easy to walk along the unspoilt coastline to the neighbouring villages of Salema and Luz or further afield for serious hikers.
Surfing is a popular activity in this part of the Algarve. Golf and horse riding are available nearby. The small Burgau Sports Centre, on the edge of the village, has tennis and squash courts and various keep fit classes.
SURROUNDING AREA
A car is not essential since everywhere in Burgau is walkable. Although, having your own wheels gives you access to the many beautiful surrounding areas.
Driving east, Praia da Luz is 5 minutes away and has a wide, family friendly beach, a bigger supermarket and a good choice of places to eat. The historic walled city of Lagos is a 15 minute drive away, with its narrow, medieval streets, numerous restaurants and bars, shops, marina and beautiful sandy beaches.
Going west, there are many unspoilt beaches in the National Park, some with a beach bar. Cabanas is the first one you come to, it’s an easy walk over the cliffs or just a 5 minute drive. Salema is a little further on, with its wide sandy beach. The dramatic, rugged Atlantic west coast beaches are only 30 minutes away.
Inland, the mountain spa town of Monchique, is well worth a visit as is the ‘artistic’ village of Barao da Sao Jaoa.

The space was spotless, modern and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities you could possibly need- from a fully equipped kitchen to comfortable bedding and fast Wifi. The balcony offered lovely views, perfect for a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. Also the location couldn't be better- close to great restaurants, cafes, and public transport, yet peaceful enough to relax after a day at the beach/pool. The host was friendly and responsive leaving helpful tips making sure everything was perfect throughout my stay. Coming in to the apartment to a complimentary bottle of wine made my night! I have enjoyed staying in this accomodation so much, that I have booked two more holidays here for 2026! it truly felt like a home away from home.
Lovely apartment

Very well equiped with everything you could possibly need catered for and several small supermarkets within easy walking distance. We enjoyed Burgau's unpretentious, laid back village vibe and the apartment is a just a short stroll from its numerous good quality eateries. A good live music scene going on too, but nothing too racous, which suited us fine. A lovely local beach from which we hired kayaks and paddled to the next bay. Also, a great bonus to have access (included with the apartment) to the pool and cafe at the Nova Beach Club, which we virtually had all to ouselves in the mornings. We did some scenic coastal walks directly from the village and would also recommend exploring the stunning coastline of the Costa Vicenta Nature Park on the West coast, about a 50 minute drive away. Would highly recommend!

Fabulous Apartment in great location
By Susan on 10-Sep-2025Another lovely stay at gorgeous Casa Vista Bonita. The apartment is light and airy, clean and beautifully furnished, with added bonus of Alan's original art work. It is equipped with everything you could need to feel at home. Perfect location on the edge of Burgau, with a short walk to the centre of the village, the beach and many great restaurants. Also, having the Nova Beach Club with pool just across the road is a great benefit. The roof terrace is a favorite place to relax with plenty of space and amazing views over the sea. We look forward to future visits and to continue exploring the beaches, coastal paths and restaurants in this stunning area.
