Our apartment, Casa Vista Bonita, is located on the 4 star Domus Iberica complex, in the picturesque village of Burgau on the edge of the Costa Vincentina National Park.
This first floor, luxury apartment is light and airy. It is air conditioned and fully furnished. The kitchen is equipped with washing machine, hob, oven, microwave, and fridge freezer.
There is free WiFi, a TV with several British channels, a DVD player and a music centre with CD, Bluetooth and USB connections.
The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath. The main bathroom is directly opposite the second bedroom. Bed linen and towels (not beach towels) are provided and a weekly clean.
The balcony, which runs along the length of the apartment, features a built in BBQ. In addition, there is a huge, private roof terrace, with stunning sea views, perfect for catching some sun and general alfresco living.
Directly opposite the apartment is The Burgau Owners Club which has a restaurant, a swimming pool, children’s pool and a play area. All these facilities are available for the use of our guests.
Burgau is an easy 75 minute drive from Faro airport on the A22 toll road, which is rarely busy. Car hire is available, at the airport, as well as taxis and transfers.

Our guests are met on arrival by our property managers who speak excellent English and are always available if needed.

New for 2021 : We now supply beach towels for your use.
We've bought some comfy outdoor seating for the roof terrace - perfect for watching the sunset with a drink!

The Domus Iberica complex is situated on the edge of Burgau; a quaint little village, with cobbled streets, 10 minutes drive west of Lagos. It sits on the edge of the national park and is still a working fishing village.
The Blue Flag beach is only a 5 minute walk away and is beautifully clean with golden sands and lifeguard. There is a great beach bar/restaurant where you can sit and watch the world go by and the waves roll in.
In the village there are two ATM’s, a bakery, 2 small supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.
Burgau is a great base for walking. The coastal paths can be accessed directly from the apartment and it is easy to walk along the unspoilt coastline to the neighbouring villages of Salema and Luz or further afield for serious hikers.
Surfing is a popular activity in this part of the Algarve. Golf and horse riding are available nearby. The small Burgau Sports Centre, on the edge of the village, has tennis and squash courts and various keep fit classes.

A car is not essential since everywhere in Burgau is walkable. Although, having your own wheels gives you access to the many beautiful surrounding areas.

Driving east, Praia da Luz is 5 minutes away and has a wide, family friendly beach, a bigger supermarket and a good choice of places to eat. The historic walled city of Lagos is a 15 minute drive away, with its narrow, medieval streets, numerous restaurants and bars, shops, marina and beautiful sandy beaches.

Going west, there are many unspoilt beaches in the National Park, some with a beach bar. Cabanas is the first one you come to, it’s an easy walk over the cliffs or just a 5 minute drive. Salema is a little further on, with its wide sandy beach. The dramatic, rugged Atlantic west coast beaches are only 30 minutes away.

Inland, the mountain spa town of Monchique, is well worth a visit as is the ‘artistic’ village of Barao da Sao Jaoa.

Lovely apartment in great location

By Judith on 22-Apr-2022

lovely spotless, well equipped, spacious apartment. The balcony was a great space to sit in afternoon/evening sun, comfortable furniture with views of the sea, we didn't use the roof terrace- just had a quick look - but great views from there. Just a few minutes walk down to the lovely beach or cafes/restuarants. 2 smallish shops but had everything you need, and yummy bread and cakes from the bakery. Easy quiet drive from Faro airport, just bit busy getting out of airport on to the main road

Wonderful apartment

By Alex Hutton on 13-Apr-2022

This is a top class apartment in a very central position and close to everything in the village. The balcony gets the Sun all afternoon until late evening ..........and the large roof terrace has sun loungers and lovely patio furniture( with sea view ). There is loads of beach stuff available to use, which was a real bonus . The apartment is spacious and has top quality furnishings. The bed in the main bedroom is the most comfortable I have slept in through all the rentals I have used over the years. The shower in the en suite and main bathroom are very good, both very powerful and invigorating. Overall, this us a wonderful place to stay and one that we will absolutely seek out again when we return to Burgau.

A winter week in sunny south-west Portugal

By Richard Trendall on 14-Feb-2022

Half-way through a hectic road trip in Spain and Portugal, staying for a night or two in self-catering city accommodation, our seven-night stay in Burgau was a chance to regroup and chill. But the therapy would only work if the accommodation was right. The relief as we entered the flat was exquisite. It had space, it was stylish, it was bright, it had a balcony. Plus shops and seaside were a few hundred metres walk away. Further inspection and use revealed a well-equipped kitchen, powerful hot showers, deeply comfortable beds with top-quality linen and a comprehensive range of British TV channels. In short, we'd arrived in paradise. The town of Burgau itself has a brilliant supermarket and at least two excellent restaurants, where we had the best meals of our whole month's holiday. A short drive away are Praia de Luz, a larger but still boutiquey resort and the bigger town of Lagos, which was so interesting we went twice.
