We provide pre travel support, apartment guide, route maps, support when looking for car hire, airport transfers, specialist diet restaurants and food shops, inc. baby food advice, and local places to visit.
Let us tell you a little about our apartment, and the way we look after you throughout your stay.
You will be met on arrival in Burgau and shown through the apartment by our English speaking Property Team, who are on hand throughout your stay to solve any problems, offer advice and provide guidance to the Algarve. We provide our guests with a comprehensive 'welcome pack' including teas, coffee, milk, juice, water, etc., and they have access to our free hi-speed Wi-Fi, and free streaming British TV and Movie channels. There is a Blu-ray DVD player and a music centre with CD, Bluetooth and USB connections
The property is a luxury fully air conditioned and fully furnished apartment and situated on the 4-star Domus Iberica resort on the edge of the traditional fishing village of Burgau in the Western Algarve. The whole apartment has recently been fully re-decorated throughout. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, hob, oven, microwave, and fridge freezer. The main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The main bathroom is directly opposite the second bedroom with a walk in shower. Bed linen and towels are provided and a weekly clean. The double wardrobes, in each bedroom, contain a 3 drawer unit and plenty of clothes hangers so there is ample clothes storage space.
The veranda, which runs along the length of the apartment, has glazed windbreaks, and features a built in BBQ, table and chairs.
We are paid up members of the Nova Beach Club with their new pool and on-site facilities and our guests have free use throughout their stay. It is just 20 mtrs from our front door.

Normal minimum stay is 7 nights but we will consider shorter periods of booking to suit our guests, and we are flexible on which day of the week you want to start or end your holiday to help gain benefit from certain airfare deals.

BURGAU
The Domus Iberica complex is situated on the edge of Burgau; a quaint little village, with cobbled streets, 10 minutes drive west of Lagos. It sits on the edge of the national park and is still a working fishing village.
The Blue Flag beach is only a 10 minute walk away and is beautifully clean with golden sands and lifeguard. There is a great beach bar/restaurant where you can sit and watch the world go by and the waves roll in.
In the village there are two ATM’s, a bakery, 2 small supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.
Burgau is a great base for walking. The coastal paths can be accessed directly from the apartment and it is easy to walk along the unspoilt coastline to the neighbouring villages of Salema and Luz or further afield for serious hikers.
Surfing is a popular activity in this part of the Algarve. Golf and horse riding are available nearby. The small Burgau Sports Centre, on the edge of the village, has tennis and squash courts and various keep fit classes.
SURROUNDING AREA
A car is not essential since everywhere in Burgau is walkable. Although, having your own wheels gives you access to the many beautiful surrounding areas.
Driving east, Praia da Luz is 5 minutes away and has a wide, family friendly beach, a bigger supermarket and a good choice of places to eat. The historic walled city of Lagos is a 15 minute drive away, with its narrow, medieval streets, numerous restaurants and bars, shops, marina and beautiful sandy beaches.
Going west, there are many unspoilt beaches in the National Park, some with a beach bar. Cabanas is the first one you come to, it’s an easy walk over the cliffs or just a 5 minute drive. Salema is a little further on, with its wide sandy beach. The dramatic, rugged Atlantic west coast beaches are only 30 minutes away.
Inland, the mountain spa town of Monchique, is well worth a visit as is the ‘artistic’ village of Barao da Sao Jaoa.

The initial meeting was friendly and welcoming and everything was perfect from that point on. We traveled with teenagers who loved the freedom Burgau gave them, enjoying the beach and the pool. We loved the coastal walks and the relaxed night life.
Beautiful Burgau
By Nina on 30-Jul-2025We have stayed at this lovely apartment multiple times over the last 10 plus years. It’s in a great location, well equipped & maintained. Always spotlessly clean. A ten minute walk to the beach & the use of a pool just across the road. The village goes from strength to strength with lots of incredible individual restaurants to try, your biggest problem will be which one to visit next! I would highly recommend this apartment, correspondence with the owners is always quick & very helpful. With the added bonus of a local team on hand in Portugal too.
Excellent ground floor apartment in Burgau
By Alison on 14-Jul-2025This 2 bedroom, ground floor apartment is in a lovely, quiet position on the edge of Burgau. Extremely well equipped and immaculate. The beds and bedding are superb - we had the best nights sleep ever. The air con in July in the bedroom was a god send, although the rest of the apartment felt lovely and cool without the air con after being outside in the July heat. The terrace was big enough to sit out on with a good sized table and for sun lovers had the sun for most of the afternoon. Parking was excellent - we managed to park outside the door, plenty of spaces. The apartment has use of the beach club just across the road, good food, super smoothies and ice cream all reasonably priced. The beach club also has a nice pool and seating area, we spent a few days just lazing by the pool reading, very relaxing and surprisingly quiet for July. Burgau is 5 min walk - plenty of restaurants and a couple of good bars. Communication with Paul and Jules, the owners, was excellent. We loved it and have no hesitation in recommending the apartment.

A sunny relaxing stay

It's situation means that it get the full afternoon sun, and whilst on the ground floor on a side road it is not very busy, so it quiet. The apartment has everything that you need, including towels, which some apartment do not include. The kitchen was quite well equipped, and had a microwave as well as a hob and oven. It's location is very close to the small village of Bergau, and can easily be walked in less than 10 minutes. Several great restaurants, of which Barracca was our favourite. It was also easy to drive to the various local sightseeing areas. The apartment was exceptionally clean on our arrival.
