"Friends of Tuscany Ltd." manage all aspects of your villa booking with tailored information to get the most from your holiday. We can help to arrange a shopping delivery service, home made meal on arrival, wine tours, children’s activities, wild swimming spots, festivals, events, and restaurant recommendations based on our personal knowledge of the area built up during over 30 years as a specialist agency.This is a lovingly restored and very well equipped house with a beautiful terraced garden which has a private swimming pool. There is a large living room and kitchen, furnished with interesting period country furniture and 3 bedrooms, 1 double and 2 twin rooms, sleeping 6 people.

The house is in the interesting ancient village of Cardoso, with views of the fine church and over to the Appenine mountains. There is a bar and pizzeria and restaurant in the village and the village is well known for the art exhibition it holds each summer.
The art city of Lucca is only 30 minutes drive from Cardoso, and in the other direction the beautiful Garfagnana with its national parks is also only 30 minutes drive.
We give detailed local information and recommendations.
Garfagnana is 'Hidden Tuscany' at its best. With its' stunning scenery it is the best area in Tuscany for walking and outdoor activities. Friends of Tuscany are the oldest agency in the area, and we have close ties with an Outdoor Activities company who offer many international class adventures including electric mountain biking.
We can also offer Art classes with a well known artist, excursions to the Cinque Terre, Florence and Lucca, visits to vineyards, historical guided tours and Italian cooking lessons.

By Tom on 28-May-2025We stayed for a week in the villa, it was absolutely fantastic and we’d recommend it to anyone! The communication prior to travel was second to none with support in booking activities and guidance around the local area. We were greeted by the host and the property owner who were very welcoming and were ready available throughout the week to answer questions. The villa itself has wonderful views of Tuscany, a beautiful pool, and is within walking distance of a cafe / bar on top of the nearby mountain. We’d 100% come back!

Great views
By Chris on 11-Sep-2024Beautiful location with great views from the house. House is very spacious with very tradition Italian furniture. Plenty of seating, dishes and cooking implements etc. Bathrooms were well equipped. Pool was lovely with ample loungers and the grounds were well kept. The gym wasn't up to much, but we were there for a holiday, and the table tennis was great for the family. The only thing to be aware of is that the driveway is very steep in places with a sharp bend in it - we had a long estate car (Skoda Superb) and could not get round the bend in one go."

By Carolyn on 01-Sep-2024A lovely and well equipped house with a homely atmosphere where we were able to spend quality time together and rest. The natural environment is stunning with the most fabulous views from the terrace. There are beautiful villages to explore but as another guest commented, the draw of the pool and garden is so strong we didn’t often stray from their side.

By Alexandra on 25-Jul-2025Absolutely beautiful setting. Stunning views and gorgeous salt water pool. A perfect getaway for our family to relax. We had a day trip to Lucca which was great. Little typical Italian village. No atm machine in the village or general store so come with groceries otherwise about a 15 min drive. Beds comfortable, towels soft. So Peaceful. Beautiful garden and terrace we loved it! Thank you Moni for your friendly welcome.
